A lot of Osmand money greased a lot of Mormon palms.

As I understand it, you have your spiritual and temporal marriages. The spiritual marriage can be broken by disobedience. I do not recall either Marie or her first husband, the BYU basketball player ever being accused of "disobedience".

You're confusing Mormons with catholics.... LDS can divorce and remarry, no problem.

Idaho Gal: Temple sealings are "undone" when covenants are broken. The paperwork is a formality. My grandmother was married twice in the Temple (Idaho Falls), and had no problems... just wanted to back you up on that...

"Disobedience" or breaking their "covenants" is not advertised in the Enquirer by the LDS.

In the LDS (Mormon) Church, you are not ex-communicated for divorce. While an unfortunate thing divorce is, one can still be a member of the church in good standing even though they have been divorced. The exception to that is if the divorce came due to some sin, like adultery, child abuse, etc. The one committing those acts leaading to the divorce would not be in good standing.
So, in essence, your question and innuendo don't really make much sense in Mormon doctrine.

Mormons did not frown upon divorce nor is it a terrible thing. They feel though before you divorce you should try to work things out (except in abusive situations). Of course you can remarry after you are divorced because you are no longer married.

I think what your are asking is did she get sealed to both husbands in the temple. That I don't know but you can undo a temple sealing if the other party is in agreement that is all. It is not a quick process and can take years. Many who are divorced from their 1st spouse remarry but not in the temple and they are fine with that.

It does not matter what your financial status is. It is the same for all members.

No, it isn't hypocritical. My parents were married contained in the temple, later divorced. As yet another has reported - on condition that we do take eternal marriage very heavily, it truly is a lengthy procedure and one could be very spiritually "confident" that what they're doing is actual. even as my parents divorced, they were given a civil divorce yet my mom could no longer acquire a "cancellation" till she changed into waiting to marry back. it truly isn't any longer a puzzling or undesirable procedure, even if the church leaders opt for the very proper for us and choose us to be actually particular about such issues... there are motives for a way issues are achieved, we gained't understand or in certain situations even settle for all of them, yet there are sure motives. My mom changed into remarried 2 years later and celebrating their twenty fourth anniversary this three hundred and sixty 5 days, and definite, they were sealed contained in the temple. Getting a temple divorice is way diverse than a civil one, prayer and fasting is needed, you do not basically go "right down to the courthouse" and record for one. Marriage is taken very heavily and in each get jointly each attempt must be made to maintain the marriage...yet for sure each situation is diverse and we are advised to ask for solutions from the Lord.

The divorce rate in the LDS church is lower than other churches, but Mormon's have been getting divorced and remarried just like the rest of the world.

As long as you are obeying commandments and not sleeping with people you aren't married to, you are not getting kicked out of the church.

The thing is, is she still married in the temple to all her previous men, that would make her polyandry...LOL.
In my ward in Ut, they just did not split up, they just tuffed it out, so Marie is lucky, I saw a lot of marriages I thought of that the couples should have split up and never did, talk about staying togther for the children.

I think that's a pretty unfair thing to say. I know plenty of people of all backgrounds and religions that have divorced for a variety reasons. It may say G-d doesn't like divorce in the bible but PLENTY of Christians do it anyway.

I think that her first husband was put on church probation for "wandering eyes". I don't think he actually committed adultery, but it was in his heart. He had a hard time being "Mr. Marie Osmond".

Mormons are allowed to divorce. (And remarry) It's frowned upon, but it doesn't get you kicked out or anything...

Divorce is discouraged, but not prohibited or punished.
