Alright i have been sitting since i was about 10ish.I can change diapers, cook (easy stuff, if needed) never leave the kids bored always play a game or go to the park sometimes i bring surprises and arts and crafts for them. I just want to know what a reasonable amount it to ask for. I originaly asked for 5$ an hour but now i find that a little for the lot that i do. I also went to the babysitting classes and will know CPR, since we are learning it on school on the 1st of december. I learned it at the babysitting class but i dont really remember some of the steps. Other clients pay about 7$ an hour or 6$. I dont want to go over 9$, thats kind of outragous. thanks!!!

About $7.50 or $8 an hour. I usually pay about $8. I figure the girl would be paid as much to work at McDonalds, so I should pay at least that much to watch my daughter. Ask for what you think you deserve. Watching kids is hard work! :)

i started at 11 i think or 12 maybe...
And they didn`t ask anything, they needed someone, and i never said anything...i never had good money out of that and didn`t really care, but i got like 3$ an hour, even if it was 3 kids!
sometimes more, sometimes less! but i have to say now that i am a mom, i would never let a 14 yo babysit my daughter! so don`t expect too much! i say, never do that job for money,
Do it because you love kids! I think 5$/ hour is not bad for you age, but don`t go over 7...you are only 14, for that price they will get someone with experience!

Well in my opinion, I give my younger babysitters a little less. Not to discriminate but the older usually the less experienced. Now if you were babysitting for me I would concider 6-7 because of all your training an dthe things you do.

In all seriousness, I think part of your answer depends upon where you live. I now live on Long Island, and pay between $7-8 an hour depending, for one 4yr old. In Vermont, where my nieces live, they get about $5 for one child. (high maintenance children should pay more, and chances are their parents know they are high maintenance... They might not like to admit it, but they know...) Good luck. You sound like a great sitter!

It is all based on how many kids and how difficult they are.
If only one and not a problem $6.
For each additional kid $2 - 3 if they are not problem kids.
If the kids are problem at least $7 and $4 for extra kids, and if they are real problems more.
