I spilled grape juice concentrate on my digital camera yesterday =[

It powers on and seems to take pictures ok, but I want to clean it up a little inside. What should i use for a cleaning solution?

Oh oh.... not good. You can use rubbing alcohol.
but use it with a Q-tip. Dip Q-tip in alcohol then clean camera.
Do not clean the lens with the rubbing alcohol!

I have not used this method myself but it really sounds good. A camera shop is your best bet unless your going to throw it away if not successful. A liquid that will clean but completely leave when dry is alcohol. This can cut grease and soften sugary residue but drys quickly before it can cause oxidation (rust) or stay and short out circuitry. Drying electronics is safely done by sitting the camera on top of a computer monitor. This gentle warmth will dry it out in an hour or so.

Put some lens-cleaning solution, (or, in a pinch, glass cleaner) on a paper towel and gently swab what you can reach.

Be sure to take the batteries out and clean them and also the contacts.

Having said this, the juice may have already done its dirty work inside and you should be prepared for a service bill.

R.I.P. sticky digital camera. It may not be dead yet but it soon will be.

Never never never use any liquids - especially alcohol - on any part of your camera. Alcohol has a way of getting into lubricated areas and ruining them. I bet there is a warning about that in your Owner's Manual.

It will likely cost more to repair your camera - if it can be repaired - than it will to buy a new camera.

Happy camera shopping.
