If Bob Marley was a prophet, he certainly was not a prophet of the true God. He may have spoken on behalf of another spirit.
Musicians can be prophetic. as demonstrated by David, a King, a Prophet, and the "Sweet Psalmist of Israel".

Yes,
i am a musician (not v good but there you go) so maybe i am biased but
1 music is expression and expression comes from and speaks to the soul.
2 musicians can have much more effect than politicians or even religious leaders and God, Allah etc. etc. would put prophets in positions of influence.
however, in most religions it is generally established that the time of the prophets is ended so not really that likely that musician is prophet, but is v possible

Absolutely. The Bible says that in the last days, God will pour out His spirit on ALL flesh. It doesn't say He will pour it out only on Christians. So yes, I think that they can be prophets. I think many are and they don't realize it. Prophecy is a gift that can be developed as a skill. I'm no prophet, but I can give a prophecy. But I'm nowhere close to being as acurate as someone like Paul Cain or Bob Jones.

I do not know who Bob Marley is but I do believe that musicians whose lyrics lift up the name of Jesus and declare the spiritual truths of the bible can most definantly be prophetic. The Holy Scripture is of no private interpretation...not him(the musician) speaking but the Holy Spirit speaking through him in song...it is a ministry in itself...a music ministry. Music has touched many souls and i believe that God loves music.

Yes, they can be, but prophets of who? That is another question.
King David was a musician and a prophet. But not all musicians are prophets, at least not prophets of God.

Obviously.... Someone is...WRONG!
There is a Song..... " Our God... is an Awesome GOD...! " That is sung in Some Churches!
The Person that Wrote that SONG... and... Those that SING IT... and... LIKE IT.... " Are Completely... WRONG!"
"Wrong = You Say?" HOW CAN THAT BE?
Every... SONG... is a Sermon!
Every... SONG... is a Sermon!
Every... SONG... is a Sermon!
Every... SONG... is a Sermon!
Every... SONG... is a Sermon!
Read this Scripture... and tell me.... IF THAT SONG.... AGREES... or... DISAGREES.... With THE WORD OF GOD? ? ?
(Isaiah 44:6) Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; = and = = beside me = = there is no God.
HOW can GOD... be Awesome.... WHEN HE SAYS.... BESIDES ME THERE.... IS NO ..... " GOD!"
Awesome God.... means that there Are Other... gods!
NO.... Musicians.... CANNOT BE... and.... ARE... NOT... PROPHETS!
Most Contemporary SONGS..... "Are".... Scripturally... INCORRECT!
Thanks for Asking ! RR

Sure, they can be saying and singing spiritual things that are rather uncanny and scary at times, without even knowing it.
Wasn't Peter, Paul and Mary in the Bible?

St. Cecilia

St. Cecilia is regarded as the patroness of music because of the story that she heard heavenly music in her heart when she was married, and is represented in art with an organ or organ-pipes in her hand.
