This is true, the WHOLE story of the Bible comes from astrotheology.
Those people that say it is irrelevant or claim that this is based on 'ifs' are avoiding the real issue.
The point that BGrimey makes is that you Christians DON'T know your religious history. If you made an effort to learn about what you blindly follow, you would have more useful information in that melon of yours, so you wouldn't spew stupid nonsense like, "He walked the Earth".
You know that the sun reflecting the water is "jesus walking on water".
But go ahead and stay in your little bubble of ignorance.
Continue to be told what to do w/o learning anything on your own.
It's quite sad.

I'm not sure how the answerer above thinks this is "blatantly mocking" Jesus. I think it is a very valid question. It's all a matter of admitting that we do not know everything and we all have something to learn. Maybe it does come from previous cultures...maybe it is an original with similarities...maybe it is the straight and only truth. Learning alone will show which is true. Regardless, the teachings of Jesus are generally a good principle to live by. The teachings of love, of seeking to understand higher things than only ourselves. These things are good for all to live by. Not necessarily "Christian doctrine"...not that all much become Christians, but I think much of what Jesus taught is what we all seek after regardless of religious affiliation (or non-affiliation).
Blessings in the Light of Christ!

The child of Mundilfari (the god of the Nordics) was known as the Sun God.
Surya the Sun God was the son of god Dyaus (sky god in the east).
So Elle5540 maybe there is something in this question.
Thom1274 Not quite as dumb as you think,
Most people need to read into the origins of all the parts of their religion and not just take it as read..!!

Christians are always Christians, they don't care, and honestly, if I believed what they believed and felt what they felt, I wouldn't care either. G-d is real in their minds and nothing can change that, no matter the supposed "origins" of their savior.
I'll post a video that was on you tube tomorrow...I couldn't find it today and I must leave the computer for today. It is about you question.
Here is that lovely video I told you about:

ATHIESTS - If you knew that you were going straight to HELL in a HAND BASKET for blatantly mocking Jesus Christ and his followers, would you stop asking stupid questions like this? Or would you just bury yourself deeper and keep asking them?
"Or would you continue to worship the Sun in the sky?" If that isn't an ugly stab at mockery, I don't know what is.

Nothing personal, but this question and the innuendo it supposes are both boring and old.
