I wouldn't normally care about a couple pieces of missing or late mail given the time of year. However, my neighbours are receiving my mail and are keeping it or passing it along late. I have recieved mail that was several weeks late!
I have left three notes for the mail carrier to deliver my mail to the side door mail receptical. In the last month or so I have only recieved my mail on time, in my mailbox, just a few times.
I complained to the Canada Post via their website, and they responded promptly saying they would investigate. However, this morning I found some of my mail from last week wrapped up on the front porch with a note to the mail carrier saying 'Please deliver to addressee. Sorry for the inconvenience but this could lead to legal issues. Thank you for your patience.'
Since when is it an inconvenience to deliver to the proper mail box? Why are my neighbours keeping my mail for weeks on end when they know it's wrong? Would you contact the police to report mail theft?

Pandora,
I agree, the mail should be delivered to my mailbox, which is registered. But my neighbours are just adding to the situation, they are not being 'nice' at all. If they receive mail that is not theirs they must return it, not keep it.

Report it to the postal inspectors.

Have you tried knocking on your neighbors door daily? That's where I'd begin. Not only do you try and handle the matter at the lowest level possible, but you will either make a great friendship or become quite the pain in the neck. Howm is it that your delivery person keeps making this same mistake? Your Postmaster General may be interested in knowing about this lack of accuracy.

I can certainly sympathize with you. It is the holiday season and maybe they're hopng to hit the jackpot with cash from your old auntie may or someone.
I saw a couple of similar complaints here, and it seems, in the US, that intentionally (or unintentionally) keeping mail from someone is a federal offense.
You have contacted the Post office in writing, so maybe the next thing to do is call your local police station to see what can be done.
Good luck.

You need to visit the Post office in person and speak with a manager. Also, try to get your bills sent to you via email (paperless) and have any checks direct deposited to your bank so that you don't have any late payments as a result of your inconsiderate neighbors.

In the U.S., postmen do not have to go to two different areas on one house to deliver mail. You may need to place your mailbox in the same area as the neighbors.

First, I would verify that your mail receptacle complies with postal regulations. Do they allow you to place a receptacle in the location you chose?

If you have talked to your neighbor and they continue this behavior you should contact the police.

your issue is with the post office, not your neighbors. your mail is not their responsibility, and they are being nice making sure that you get it at all.
