Because it is easier to look at the faults of others then to look at what is wrong with you.

Morman beliefs are very different than Christian beliefs.
Christian don't claim to be better than Mormons, but Christians follow Jesus Christ and Mormons mainly follow Joseph Smith and not Jesus.
Many of the things Smith taught are the opposite of or very different than what the Bible teaches.
So therefore Bible believing Christians who have studied LDS beliefs know that the LDS do not practice Christianity.
Brigham Young even said once that the Mormon God is the Christian Devil and the Christian God is the Mormon Devil.

Well they believe that the whole Book of Mormon is made up.
Mormons believe that two tribes of Israel migrated to America 600 BC. They fought, Jesus appeared to them, and then the dark skinned Israelites killed off the light skin Israelites in big battles with chariots and horses. The last of the light skinned Israelites buried a book written on golden plates that Joseph Smith found in 1830 and translated, but only a few claimed to have seen the golden plates.
The other thing, is that the Mormon religion keeps changing its fundamental positions. First polygamy is a principle to enter Heaven, now it is not. Black people were cursed, now they are okay.
Now look at the Catholic church. It has not changed any core principles in 2000 years. Sure, they changed the language of the Mass a couple times or which way the priest faces, but if you read the writing of St. Augustine in 600 AD, the principles of the Council of Nicea, or the Summa Theologica of Thomas Aqunias, they are all the same. Some of the ideas have been abused by some, but the theology has remained constant. No major theological point has ever changed.

Because a lot of Christian Church's are religious--and religious people think they are better than everyone. The religious people are the only one's Jesus said a negative thing about. True Christianity is about relationship with God and each other and those people know that they are not better than anyone, just blessed by God to have been given Jesus to reconcile ourselves to God.

I don't know if they clain to be better...but maybe moreso that they believe like the Old & New Testament Bible (even if they have never read it) due to their own thinking that Joseph Smith wasn't a prophet, or that the Largest Church out there in Utah has Never Ever put those Tablets of Stone on display for all the world to see. You would naturally assume that there aren't any if they don't post them.
Also the King James Bible....in Revelations states that anyone adding to or taking from (The Word) was in danger of hell fire. Therefore all of us are stuck.....since the King James came after the Hebrew and Greek meanings.
A better Christian is one who Reads the Word and Obeys..........all of it. One who indeed has been baptized in name of Jesus and has been filled with the Holy Ghost(with their own evidence of speaking in an unknown tongue) so that they can received For Sure the meanings of God's Word (the correct interpretation.
Too many people call themselves Christians. They say that only because they Believe there is a God............the devil knows that too. It's the following his law and statues with desire, willingness, and Praise.

The same reason a lot of Christian Church's claim to be better than Roman Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses, Episcopalians, Quakers, etc. Dogmatism (thinking their view and ONLY their view of spirituality is true) and Fear (their leaders induce fear in the flock to avoid other groups with different teaching).

My response to this question is because they have not seriously researched Mormonism and found out the truth about it. If you search, ponder, prayer, and seek to know the truth, God will manifest it to you (See James 1:5). By asking god, he will reveal the truth after much research and effort to learn.
I did, and that is why I am a Mormon.

Christianity is based Soley on the truth of the Holy Bible it isn't something that was distorted by some man that claimed to be a prophet of God!
Christians don't think they are better, they just know the truth. How does anyone know the truth? Well look to God for the truth and pray that he gives you wisdom and shows you the truth and ask for a Revelation. If you do this in faith you will understand what is true!

Last time I checked, it was the Mormon church claiming that all other Christian churches were "removed far from [Him], and that their creeds are an abomination in [His] eyes."
Please rephrase your question.

Lets see because we are in a cult, brainwashed, going to burn in hell, against God, not christian.
Did I leave anything out? I am sure some answerers will fill in the rest if I did.
Oh I guess I did leave one out, we believe in polygamy still I guess.
You people that keep saying mormons arent christian, I would like to see the official seal of christianity that your religion has from some non existant official council that gets to declare who is and is not a christian.
Where in the world do you get the authority to make the statement that your INTERPRETATION of the Bible is the only one that matters and the only one that decides who is and is not a christian?
