I learned some things about Buddhism and Satanism.
I also learned there is reason to be very afraid of some religions because of the followers they produce.
Whatever intelligence may be in the religion is smacked down by the amount of sheer ignorance/blatant stupidity that exists in it.
[This is more than just one religion mind you]

Hah. no.
But then again I'm one of those people that are FACINATED by other cultures and I like to learn about other religions and rituals. So I've done a little self research. Im no expert though. But some of the tripe I've seen on here is basically people trying to say how they shouldnt have to learn about each other because there is absolutely no possibility that they are wrong.
I find it particularly sad when people who are devout of a particular faith consider it a "sin" to even learn about a different faith with an open mind. You dont have to convert, but whats the harm in knowing the other guys point of view?

Sure. I've even learned a couple of interesting facts about my own religion that I hadn't previously been aware of. As far as learning about other religions, denominations, and beliefs while on this site, I've learned things about Wicca, Asatru, Islam, Hinduism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Nazarenes, Spiritualism, Buddhism, and many, many others.

Yeah; I never quite believed that fundies were so ... how shall I put it? Fundamental.
I never realised there really were people who believed the earth was only 6000 years old.
I won't go on about the other things they've blown me outa the water with other than to say that USians are not all fundamental and crazy - there are many sane USians - they just happen to be a minority ... hence GWBush ... twice.

Yes, I've learned about Wicca, Unitarian Universalism, and the diversity of attitudes and beliefs among atheists.
Had I not already known about them, I would have learned several essential things about Hinduism and Judaism.

Well it has taught me that there are many fake Christians as opposed to real ones I guess. This is not me who says this but Christians to each other. This is why I come on here to watch the festival of phoniness.

the only thing that i have learned is that i had been blissfully unaware that the radical christians were THIS scary.
i would find it impossible to actually learn anything about christianity from them, as they don't even seem to be reading from the same book.
