they were finger nail trimmers like nose hair trimmers. Not actual sizzers.

Last year, my daughter cut her own hair just before her 5th birthday. She also had hair down to her butt. She made diagonal cuts on both the right and left sides. :(

I just let it grow out naturally. When we left the house, I'd pin parts of it back and it would actually look okay. And now that a year has passed, it doesn't look anywhere near as bad.

Do a total assessment of the damage. If the damage is really bad and you don't think you can handle it yourself, then take her to a stylist. Otherwise you can wait for it to grow back.

Good luck!

If it's noticeably hacked into, then you're probably going to have to cut her hair and even it up. You can't put her hair in a pony tail every day, and the bobby pins will come out while she's playing anyway. Take her to a stylist and have her suggest a new haircut, then ask your daughter what she wants. Instead of crying over her lost hair and making her see that you are very upset, stay upbeat about it and tell her now she can have short hair like Dora, Tinkerbelle, Shirley Temple, whatever character she likes with short hair. She'll love it, and in a year or so she'll have her long hair again. :) Good luck!

Use a physically powerful scarf or very small clips or colored or adorned bobby pins. i might think of your son is the single no longer telling the reality. If she had asked him to, she in all threat does no longer have been THAT forlorn approximately it. attempt to be certain if some type of pretend hair or hair that's no longer her very own could someway be used to fill interior the gaps. i do no longer understand lots approximately it, yet ask a hairdresser in the event that they have any techniques or if there is something they might do. Reassure her that hair grows back, she's nevertheless eye-catching, and which you will do in spite of you may to hide it.

This will be a funny story someday!!! Take pictures for their baby books- I did! Remember, it is only hair. Thank goodness he didn't nick her ear or something else. Personally, I would have her hair cut so it kinda blends in and then let it grow out again.

It is something most kids I know have done at least once! All of my kids have, and so have my nephews and friends kids. Yes, they all got punished, too!

Isn't it great that hair grows back? *grin* You will laugh, honest.

My older daughter cut my younger daughters hair once - almost right down to the scalp... what a mess that was.

Then my younger daughter cut her own last year. *sigh*

We've taken pictures and the kids love to hear stories about when they were little and they....

Believe me they've done a lot of.... LOL

The older one painted the younger one with deck paint once - the picture of that is priceless! I'm glad that even though I was upset I took the picture any way. I can't wait to remind them of these things when they complain about THEIR kids.

I would take her to salon and have them fix the cut as best they can. She will be pretty no matter how she wears her hair. Same thing happened to me and my sister when we were little. A neighbor boy was playing barber and he cut out chunks of our hair. Mom took us in and gave us cute pixie style cuts. It grows back so all is well. Have fun with the experience make it fun and memorable for her not scary and upsetting.

it really isn't that big of deal and the more you freak out about it the more your daughter will emotionally be scared by it and remember her "awful" moment. Why not ask her what she wants to do...maybe give her a book of new cute hair cuts for girls and see if there is someting in there she would like to try. You can turn a negative moment into a positive one.

First of all...take a deep breath. Take her to a salon and have them fix it. They may be able to fix it without cutting ALL of her hair!!

It may not seem funny now, but you will laugh about this later!
