I'd avoid markers, they can make an awful mess.
Our little one also loves to draw, so we bought her "sidewalk chalk," crayons, and a ton of coloring books.
Which are never as appealing playthings, of course, as Dad's Treo, Mom's purse, our Montblanc pens, or anything remotely breakable!
She also loves stuffed animals of all sorts, much like her mom!

It doesn't have to be something bought. Are there things that belong to you that she keeps getting into that you don't want her to? How about making a little kid version just for her?
If she likes to get into your purse, get an old little purse for her and make that HER purse. If she wants to play with a cell phone and you have an old one laying around give her that one. Is she getting into your clothes or shoes? Maybe its time to hit the thrift stores for scarves and such for a dress up collection.
My daughter kept getting into my makeup no matter where I put it. I decided to give her an old makeup bag I had with some makeup brushes, a powder puff, a kids compact mirror, chapstick, and an old concealer pot (her item of mine favorite to destroy). I cleaned all of these before giving them to her, of course. When I put my makeup on in the morning, she puts her "makeup" on too. Some may argue that two is too young for this sort of thing, but I figure she was going to keep getting into mine so why not get her something similar to curb her curiosity and let her explore. It has worked wonders for us.

My 2 year old got an doodle board for her birthday and she absolutely loves it. They also make those sets that use water and only mark on the sheets provided. She also enjoys playing with babies. Mega blocks are a great idea as well.

What about that "aquadoodle"thing? Can't make a mess and it is cool to do together.
