I don't think he was trying to offend you. There are issues that singles deal with that couples don't. Not only is it a great way to meet people and make new friends, but it helps you build a support system. Its good to meet people that may be dealing with similar issues, you can relate better. If you don't want a church related group then try other groups and activities that interest you.

No, you shouldn't think of it as offensive. When I first started looking for a girlfriend, I had no luck at bars or social events because sometimes I can get shy. I went online and researched the different sites and found that meeting people was SO much easier online.
Now there are tons of different types of sites you can meet people; not to mention, learn about people before you meet them (profiles, photos, etc.).

No, you shouldn't be offended. You said you were shy and had trouble meeting people.... and these groups are made especially for people like you. Not pathetic people but people who have trouble meeting people. Don't be so uptight and judgemental. I'm not saying you are going to have the time of your life, just try to keep an open mind and I think you will be suprised.

what he was saying to u is to make yourself more socially available, and suggested that u join an org. /group of others w/ similar interests or those who r in similar situations/ with same concerns......such as 'shyness'..basically a support grp.thats a sure fire way to meet ppl, and get a social life established informally
not offensive at all-quite helpful [ btw.sexuality isnt a concern, just meeting ppl-men or women]

nah...who cares about your counselor??? wat you need to do is go to a good church. Then, you could meet the guy of your dreams, because whether you think so or not, God is preparing someone for you right now, someone that will be perfect for you. Got it? So, if you go to some kind of church functions, you know, like Thursday night Bible studies or something, you're more likely to meet the right kind of guy.
