Jehovah is providing us with the spiritual food we need at just the right time.
Beware of the birdcatcher.
It really made me think. Satan already has the world, he is watching us for our weaknesses. We are his big prize. He will use whatever means available to snatch us away from Jehovah.
It's like taking a group of 20 children to the beach. If 19 are building a sand castle, you're not worried about those but let that 20th one go to the waters edge to explore and that one has all your attention. The world is building sand castles, Satan can relax. We are the minority and the ones exploring the truth. He is very concerned and will do all he can to distract us from studying and worship. He will use peer pressure, materialism and anything else to lure us back away from "the water".
I also liked the parts about his tactics being compared to a Lion and a snake. We expect his attacks to be full frontal attacks, obvious attacks, but he is most effective when he is sneaky and manipulative. What a wonderful lesson to help us all prepare and be aware.

I always enjoy the Watchtower Study. As with Philip and the Ethiopian court official, the Watchtower, along with Jehovah's holy spirit, helps us to "really understand" what we are reading in the Scriptures.
Beginning January, I will have to study harder. Our WT Study conductor is moving out of the territory, and that job -- that happy responsibility -- falls on me next year. :-)

Another great study again!
One point brought out at our meeting was ... The 'birdcatcher' can place all of his traps (in obvious places and more suttle ones), but it takes a pray to walk into them. So, we know that Satan has these traps placed all around us ... it's up to us to keep on looking carefully to avoid walking into one of his traps.
I wanna be a fish: Great illustration about the children at the beach ... it really highlights Satan's tactics ... thanks for sharing.

I definitely enjoyed it. Helps us to keep on the watch and keep our eyes open. During the part about how Satan's attacks can come as a lion's attack: full frontal and open, or as a snake's attack: sneaky and cunning, and less obvious at first, one young brother made the comment that just as snake experts study snakes and learn everything they can about snakes, in the same way, Jah is training us to become 'snake experts' if you will, be helping us to be able to pick up on his more subtle attacks, attacks that we otherwise might not recognize as coming from Satan. I thought that was very true. We're becoming snake experts :-)

Didn't catch it. There was a witness patient at work a few weeks ago. The nicest pt you could ever meet.
Anyway who does those illustrations for Watchtower? They are good. I like looking at the pictures in the magazine, and the lesson that they teach are good too.

I was going to ask the same question but I had to go outta town today. I LOVED this article. I love them all but this one was really a good reminder and I really benefitted from it. May we pray to Jehovah God to help us not fall into one of the birdcathers trap.

oh i loved it! i couldn't get enough of it! it really makes you see how desperate Satan is but too i thought the resemblance between him and the bird catcher was quite unique! i loved how the study brought out that just as a bird catcher observes your actions and strikes at the venerable times so Satan watches us each as individuals! it really made me think about how i could be affected by everyday things that happen in my life and too what i could do to prevent it.
i LOVED it!!!!

I always do.
For those who don't know, the "birdcatcher" is satan. He lays traps just like any other hunter to catch the unwary at their weakest point. ....and in order to do that.........he STUDIES mankind.
Interesting WT

I also enjoyed and really benefited with the Study article. Jehovah, by his word, the Bible, and the faithful and discreet slave, never cease to feed us and keeps us awake during this "critical times hard to deal with"....
