they have no moral accountability other than their own, cant be called hypocrites because they dont believe in anything bigger than themselves. All they need to do is poke holes in a deists argument, stating no facts, just the same questions we posed as children. We christians have to keep up with our studies to answer these fools, but they only need to disbelieve...

most of these answers prove my point. The reason atheists are fools is, because they blindly DISbelieve...An educated christian doesnt dismiss science, medicine, or technology. Most atheists have more problems than just trash mouthing the bible and its adherents...

it takes faith to believe in God...
it takes faith to NOT believe.
unless you have physical proof of either.

I think it takes way more faith (even if they deny it) to believe that everything happened by accident (yeah right)!

"These fools?" Buddy none of the technology which you are using right now came from the Christian faith--it came from good ol' science--just like the medicine you use when you are ill--tell me this--if you are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness will you have enough faith in God to not go to a doctor who practices heathen arts such as attempting to heal through the use of "false substances" and divers means not mentioned in your precious bible? Didn't think so!
We do more than sit around disbelieving--and you need to get your facts straight before you open your mouth--Deism was basically atheism. If you believe in a god then you are a "theist" not a deist. If you believe in just one god you are a monotheist if you believe in more you are a polytheist. Use the dictionary once in a while--you sound like you could benefit from a little education.
As far as moral accountability goes, every christian that I know hypocritically picks and chooses which morals they live by and which ones they don't. So, would you please explain to me how that differs from what everyone else on this Earth does when it comes to choosing the path of "right" versus "wrong"? At least I can give reasons for why I choose to believe something should or shouldn't be done--I don't have to base my answers on mythology.

My own ethical accountability is very high and as a 99% atheist, 1% believer in a game player multiverse, 100% smart aleck, I take measures to ensure that I try to promote a positive image of the community that is so often maligned by many Christians. This doesn't mean I'm not going to make a joke or two here or there or request I be free from being forced to worship someone else's imaginary friend by authorities such as the government and schools, but I try very hard to be a lawful and honest person. Why? Because if we all act in a kind way towards each other, life really is better. But believing as I want is not wrong and is my right as an American. Besides, with your rules, I can believe in any silly imaginary creation I want to, not just yours.

I can only speak for myself, but no, it isn't easy to be an atheist. It is a myth that atheists don't believe in anything. I believe in the universe, and am in awe of it because it exists and that, to me, is far more wonderful than some mythical deity. The real world does a lot more for me than fantasy. I state plenty of facts, and my education is ongoing, because I like to have something more to offer in debate than ad hominem attacks such as referring to the other party as "fools". I wonder why you chose that word. Probably because that's what the Bible calls us. It informs your thoughts, words, and deeds, and it's a repulsive book when studied objectively. I do more than disbelieve. I evaluate, and I find your religion wanting in many aspects, foremost of which is its insistence that it is a religion of love and compassion when its doctrine shows otherwise. It is also a myth that atheists have no moral accountability. That statements just reveals your ignorance. You'd better keep up with your studies, because whatever studying you've been doing up until now has benefited you little.

Yep, it's easy. For us Proofs = Belief (knowedge). That's the difference we have with believers. For you (no proofs) = belief(just belief this time). Nothing more than that. And nothing less.
I guess that if you didn't believe in God you wouldn't kill people anyway, would you? That's how we behave, based on our own empathy, other feelings and rational arguments. It's not hard, even you could do it if you wish (i would state that you are already doing it all the time - at least up to some degree).
We can't waste precious time of our lives searching for more holes in your 'theory' (be careful of the meaning of theory here) of God. We found some of them (those you should be finding answers to) and if you answer those we would think about what to do afterwards. Don't complain about it and find facts.
It doesn't take faith to believe that God doesn't exist more than it takes faith to believe black cats don't give bad luck.
See ya!

Not only easy , but beneficial . Just think of the time we save while the Holies are praying . We accomplish much by not going to church . Actually , most of the day , Sunday is lost in getting ready , the trip to church , sitting through the long sermon that you've heard a hundred times before , the trip back , putting the Sunday-go-meeting clothes away .
All for what ? An impossible fairy tale .

I agree. Staying brainwashed required continuous reinforcement.
Theists don't have an "argument", they have a baseless claim. There's nothing to poke holes in, but if you want a fact, here's one:
When a making an extraordinary claim, it is up to the person making the claim to provide extraordinary supporting evidence for said claim. Where is the evidence for god? And I don't mean asking a question for which we don't have an answer, and then saying, "well, that proves god exists." Provide some actual empirical evidence for god, and you'll have no trouble convincing atheists he exists. I guarantee it.
Oh, and I have moral accountability to the society I live in, as do we all.

It is actually easy... and you're the one not stating any facts at all... what makes you say that atheists and non-religious people have no moral accounatability.
I find it absurd to let someone tell you what you can and can't do, threatening you to go to hell and stuff like that. Studies about what??...that maybe the whole bible is based on an egyptian god??...that Mary had children with her husband after having Jesus??...that the Catholic church destroyed historical papers, and now humanity is behind like 400 years??...
I'll hae to say it, it isn't just easy, it's a necessity

You are both childish Athiest and Christian alike. Read the Bible for yourselves and stop being lazy. Find your purpose in life and be accountable for the life you live and what you contribute.
Throwing sticks and stones and ranting and name calling is adolescent at best.
God doesn't need Christians to stoop to that level. he asked us to plant and water seeds. That's all. The sower will rejoice with the reaper (John 4:36). Practice Love.
Study athiest, the bible and science and make informed decisions for yourself. Don't allow others to shape your understanding or lack there of. Investigate things for yourself and then make a decision based on your understanding. Being hurtful against another person whether you are a christian or not is wrong.
There is a free bible at www.blueletterbible.org

I am not an atheist but I have been called one several times. It never bothered me until this weekend when my cousin called me an atheist and hasn't spoken to me since. It is hard because my cousin is the one person I have looked up to my whole life. She is my best friend and now she wont even talk to me.
Morals do not come from god. All I ask is that people think. If you think and still believe than the more power to you but to spout out things that make no sense annoy me more than anything.

That is right, I am accountable to the most important person in the world to me. Me. I am a good person because it is the way I want to live not because I'm threatened by eternal punishment or promised bliss as a reward.
I do state facts and it is not my issue that theists can just ignore them when they don't fit within the scope of their holy books. Poking holes is rather simple considering the nature of a theists arguments.
