He made them keep eating it to get them to understand that all they needed would come from him.
Don't know about the cramps or gastro-intestinal discomfort. the bible doesn't specifically address those two issues. It does seem pretty clear that during the 40 years it got pretty old. Humans can be pretty stubborn at times.

Manna is angels food. It was heavenly bread and not at all bad for His people. God had performed great wonders in Egypt and brought them forth out of 400 years of slavery. It seems to me that they would be thankful that He was leading them and feeding them and providing for them. Instead they grumbled against the Almighty and His wrath was kindled against them. Perhaps if they had cramps it was a result of their poor attitude and not the provisions provided by God.

that is a pretty limited interpretation of the Bible. Actually, the manna of the Bible was more like a modern pizza

I remember reading where God reprimanded them for hankering after the "fleshpots of Egypt."
Maybe they didn't cherish the manna every damn day; but cramps, no.

Quail baseball was too much fun.
Clearly this story indicates that our discomfort in life is not of God's concern.
