Hi, I have a large amount of tooth enamel erosion. Ive never had an eating disorder...what other causes are there for alot of erosion? The erosion in on the tops of my bottom front teeth, the back of my top front teeth and the tops of my chewing surfaces. It appears to be some sort of acidic wear because its not just the top surfaces (like grinding would do). I do wear a guard at night so I wont grind, just in case. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

A lot of fruit juice or citrus fruits can cause acid erosion. So can fizzy drinks and some types of amphetamines.

It can be caused by sodas especially cokes. I have this problem also. I drink sweet tea mostly but I also drink coke. I have been diagnosed with acid reflux which causes teeth to erode, also since I was 13 I have thrown up most mornings (acid reflux). There are some toothpastes that help prevent & maintain teeth with your problem. If you drink a lot of sodas, juice, or eat a lot of fruit with high acidic levels in them you may want to cut back or stop.

acid reflux, too much soda, or brushing too hard. Or maybe your toothpaste is too abrasive.

Do you happen to take chewable vitamin C tablets? That will do it.
