Oil was not to fund the war , it was to fund the rebuilding of Iraq.. After we blew the hell out of it. It was supposed to be safe so contractors like KRB and Haliburton could go and and fix it and charge them!!
If you don't think the powers that be are not making a killing out Opium well you kidding yourself!!

The war in Iraq isn't funded by Oil...that's why the Senate has been stalling on passing the war funding measures. Besides, not all of Iraq's oil production is online. And that which is, scarcely comes to the US. Its a lazy argument by many that this is a war over Oil. Its what the lying Politicians want us to see, rather than using our brains and reading between the lines. There is so much more involved here than oil.
Politicians fear an informed Constituency.. that's why each party controls some facet of the media.

Opium is the primary source of revenue for the war lords and Taliban of Afghanistan, so they got the idea first and control that commodity, I suppose we could fight them for control of the Opium with the same plan we had for Iraq. Observe how well that's worked for us.
