I have found that calcium does not promote constipation. to releive the constipation take colace or fiber tablets -- I have been on a restricted intake for over 6 months and that is what works best for me.

Did the doctor tell you this? (that you need calcium)

Calcium is best taken with Magnesium as they have a synergistic effect. But also magnesium can help loosen bowel movements as well. You can buy supplements these days that have a 2/1 ratio of calcium and magnesium as well as some other important vitamins and minerals to help improve absorption. If this was under your docs advice then check with him first just in case.

See a medical doctor for chronic constipation. They have some good meds they can prescribe. One example is lactulose.
Good luck.

It will tighten up your bowel movements. You can offset this by getting lots of fiber in your diet and drinking plenty of fluids.
