It is all too sickening to hear people – theists and atheists alike – speak about how there are “SO MANY” people claiming to have the one true religion and/or the “correct” version of Christianity…

As if this is proof that the Gospel of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ must be false…!

What kind of pathetic damnable logic is this?!?

It is like being in a burning building with one exit:
Everybody in the building is frantically running a different direction to get out.
A few are actually coming in through the one exit to direct people the One Way out…
But meanwhile, you sit in the middle of the building with your nose in the air, chest puffed out, arms crossed, smirking and mocking, “Look at all the fools running different ways - obviously, there isn’t an exit at all.”
…and the fire consumes you.

Shall I give you some hotdogs to roast and eat before you roast?

Why wouldn't you look at the "Fire Escape" Route, provided by the Creator of the building?

I understand your frustration-
As lovers of Truth we hate every false way and a multitude of opinions does not a truth make.

However, I sincerely pray for those blind fools running the wrong way, that God would have mercy on them, as many as He pleases, just as He has had on me, who was surely just as blind, just as foolish, and racing to Hell on a mad dash.

Anyone who truly wants to know the will of God, will "study to show himself approved, rightly dividing the word of God." If any teaching or doctrine does *not* line up with the written Word of GHod, it should be rejected, for it is not of Him! God will never give us any command, direction or guidance that contradicts His Word!

We Christians (saved by the shed blood of Jesus, washed by the blood of the Lamb and born again) may differ in certain practices; but we shall *never* differ in essential doctrines!

Trouble is, everybody and their dog is handing us a "Fire Escape" plan... and no two agree! How are we supposed to pick the right one?!? If we pick the wrong one, we fry, but there's a TON of 'em to choose from! How do we know YOUR "Fire Escape" plan is the genuine article, when it doesn't look any more special or different from the others? Rather than rely on a bunch of conflicting maps, I'd find my own way out!

1) Think of it this way. We are told that asking God to come into our hearts will convict us in the holy spirit and show us the truth in the Bible. If this were true, could proclaimed believers disagree?
2) The balatant falsehoods. absurdities and contradictions in the Bible make it difficult to see how it could have been inspired by a deity, or even how sane, intelligent people could believe it.

People search for reason in the world. Its as simple as that. While I do believe in god, I do not think that our theories of what god is are even remotely close to what god actually is. People need to believe in something, its a psychological balance that lets them know their life is not meaningless. Because if life is meaningless then why do it and then the mass suicides start. = )

From what I've learned on here, there are at least 3,000 different beliefs in a deity here on Earth. With odds of 2,999:1 of picking the right one (if there is a right one) chances are most of us have got it wrong. Nobody really knows the truth about what god is or isn't - they just think they do.
