I can debate both sides of the argument but see no recourse.Wouldnt becoming more self substaining and less reliance on industry and the government be more in line with nature?

You don't seem to understand people very well. People are generally lazy. Industry does the work for them. they don't have to live in log cabins, hunt their own food, or grow crops because of industry. They live in environmentally controlled houses that provide food by going to the fridge. We go get more by driving instead of walking.

You can look at our government and our lifestyles and tell, people will give up their future for an easy time now.

Right - It makes no difference if it is real or not. We should do what we can to reduce and eliminate all pollution, including green house gases. Currently pollution control is a multi billion dollar business and growing, so we know we're on the right track.

We should eliminate continuous study on the climate and convert research grants to tax credits for corporations who invest in pollution control technology.
