You say "Miércoles de ceniza".
Miércoles = Wednesday
ceniza = ash
I like the French translation of this also:
Mercredi des Cendres.
Mercredi = Wednesday
cendres= ashes
I find it interesting that "Ash" is singular in Spanish
but plural in French.

Ashes - cenizas well i might use an ashtry i dont want some ashes to go on the floor or wherever: Debería usar un cenicero, no quiero que las cenizas se caigan al suelo o a cualqier otro sitio.
