well, that doesnt give us much insight as to what might be going wrong in the training process. generally, when a dog has an accident, it is the owners fault (no, that is not meant as an insult, just information). is the pup being crate trained? where is the pup at when you can't keep an eye on her? is she being fed on a set schedule? is the water intake being monitored? is she being taken out often? is she being reinforced for going in appropriate places? what is happening for times she goes inside? what cleaner are you using? where is she expected to go to the bathroom? what kind of food is she being fed?

there are many factors, so....kinda need to give more info before anyone can help you resolve the prob.

The training is you not her:

Every dog will train at their own speed; unfortunately for you.
The most import thing is that you really donate the TIME to keep a close watch on them.

Their bladders are very small and need to go out often. At least once an hour. Have a key word for going out. Our's is "lets check the back" which means were are all going to the back yard and do our business. That is better than saying lets go pee. Keep a close watch on them. If you see them acting like they might be about to squat or hike, make an abrupt noise or a whistle to get their attention and grab them and go outside immediately. I don't like to paper train because later they will pee on any paper left in the floor because you taught them to do that. I hope you are not up-stairs in the apartment.

If you have to you can train them to one of those pads you buy at the pet stores for now and later when you get the house, move the pad outside and later just do away with the pad.

Wash any area that they do use, so you remove any smell. So that spot doesn’t attract them back. Don't scold them or hit them, they did what nature intended and they have to learn where the proper place it and that's your job. Don't rub their noses in the spot that is certainly going to teach them to go out side....yea.!

The most important thing is to be consistant and very watchful.

Some people will crate train. Keep them in the crate and let out to play in the yard and then return to the crate. It could take several days to 2 weeks before they get the idea that outside is to pee. But remember they cannot open that door because the handle is too high....so if they pee in the house it is your fault not theirs.

Another big item that it would help is if your family is on the same page and will help with the training. If you have to train, do the housework and fight with everyone else, it is not going to be a good 2 weeks. Talk with family member and request their help. Small dogs who are absolutely obnoxious can learn as long as you and your husband establish yourself as the alpha of the pack and don't let the "cute" little guys run you

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aMVNJ

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Dogs have to be punished in the act. It's just the way their mind works. If you punish them afterwards they have no clue why you're upset with them. You have to take the newspaper and cover the mess. They'll investigate it and form their own conclusion. After they see it and investigate it, clean it up and put fresh paper down. After doing that like 3 or 4 times, they'll start to associate the newspaper with going potty and start pooping on the paper. The first time it happens make sure you congratulate her by giving a treat and baby talk and petting. Dogs understand voice tone so if you catch her going off the paper, say no in a strong dominating tone. No need to yell they have sensitive hearing just be dominating in voice. When she does anything good do baby talk. This way she'll understand when you are pleased with her and not so pleased.

She shouldn't still be having accidents at 6 months of age, unless she is being left too long, not taken out often enough, or she has an infection even.

I have heard that Cockapoos ( mixed breeds ) can be harder to housetrain than some other dogs.

You need to be consistent in taking her out and praising her when she goes. Crate her when you can't watch her and when you go out. As soon as you come home, and she is Quiet, let her out and take her straight outside. I would take her outside every 1 1/2 hours at this point to make sure she is getting plenty of changes to go. The more you can get her to go outside, the more chances you have to praise her, the more the idea will stick in her head that Outside is the place to go.

If I have a dog that seems a little slow in getting it, I put the drinking water outside the door.. They can ask to go out for a drink, much easier than they can to go out for a pee for some reason. Once they are out for a drink, Hey might just as well pee at the same time :)

When you catch her peeing in the house.. Tell her HEEEY and get her outside to finish, No punishment for the peeing, but praise for going outside to pee.. It'll come, just be consistent and she'll figure it out.

what do you do to correct the behavior? I know its a completely different breed but I just got an Alaskan Malamute puppy who is 9 weeks old and the breeder told me when he has an accident to immediately pick him up and take him to the newspaper or wherevere you want it to happen. Then you have to hold him there and tell him how he is bad and he shouldnt do that.

I have only had him for 3 days but he is starting to get better already.
