I've been pondering this for a while now. Do calories affect your health? I read the back of labels and I see that two glasses of orange juice match the exact same calories that one slice of chocolate cake has.

How many calories is too much? How many calories is too little?

Too many Can cause you to gain weight but don't starve yourself eat healthy calories a occasional pizza and big mac won't kill you but try and keep your calories to a level where you don't need food to satisfy yourself because of the taste
remember one Big mac is 650 calories and 35 grams of fat.
If you eat two of them and a fries order and a coke your almost at 1700 calories now add all the rest you eat potato chips 10 calories each and loads of fat.
The govt says don't eat more than 30 percent fat.
I'd cut that to 20 percent if you want to be healthy.

Most adults need about 2000 (give or take) per day. If you are an athlete you will most definitely require more. Frequently eating too many calories that you aren't burning off is how you become overweight. That is really the only thing that eating too many calories will do to you, although then you have to deal with the health problems that can arise because of being overweight.

I don't know how much is too much, but I think 3000 for any gender is too much.

1200 is the MINIMUM anyone should get.
