Hey guys.

Look, i have an art exam TOMORROW.
I have to paint an ornament of a horse in the style of an artist.

I need artists!!!

It would help if they painted horses.

PAINTED.

It would help if they weren't entirely famous like VanGogh.

It would help if they had a VERY recognisable style. THIS IS ESSENTIAL.

It would help if their style wasn't abstract OR too lifelike.

It would help if you gave me links.

It would help if they painted horses in bright colours.

It would help if I could apply their style to AN ORNAMENT - NOT A VIEW/SCENE.

It would help if you helped.

Please!!

{{ThanksSoMuch.}}

**ALREADY LOOKED AT FRANZ MARC
***THEY DONT HAVE TO PAINT HORSES
****THEY MUST BE ORIGINAL AND HAVE A WIKIPEDIA ABOUT THEM ~ THATS HOW FAMOUS
*****THEY MUST DO SOMETHING UNIQUE IN THE WAY THEY PAINT - HORSES OR OTHERWISE!!

THANKS SO MUCH.

Try Eugene Delacroix of the Romanticism/Orientalism movements...he has many wild looking horses in his paintings. You could also use Theodore Gericault as well.

Delacroix uses white horses most often to contrast with the darker blood reds and bold colors (chiaroscurro)...
I wrote a paper about horses of these two artists in the Romantic movement and how they used the horses to convey emotion where the human figures were emotionally stunted - I got an A+ in a 400 level college course.

Try "The Death of Sardanapolis" by Delacroix - the white horse in the lower left corner held by the black slave would be a great example of chiaroscurro, as well as the background..

How about a depiction of a horse - in surrealist style by Salvador Dali it is in The Temptation of St.Anthony
1946. Oil on canvas, 89 x 119 cm.
Musées Royaux des Beaux - Arts de Belgique, Brussels
Go to this link where there is a photo and a description of the painting which is very famous http://dali.urvas.lt/page20.html
Also at http://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Salvador_Dali
As you can see the horse's pose is very distinctive, and easy to copy, particularly its very long splindly forelegs, and the way the head and the mane are twisted to one side. You can always add an ornament, perhaps give the horse a decorative saddle. I hope this idea is helpful.

Try Googling Fredrick Remington.

Well known for painting scenes from the Americal old West. Many of his paintings were adapted to some pretty famous statues.

Edgar Degas, (1834 -1917) painted a beautiful piece called "Horses in the Rain" that is at the Burrell collection in Glasgow. He did some other paintings of horses, but that's my favorite.

I second Fredrick Remington...his horses are tight.
