From the Jehovah's Witness viewpoint (Christian viewpoint), which is based solely on what God's Word the Bible tells us, there are two hopes for faithful and obedient mankind: (1) the heavenly hope, is held out to a relatively small group of humans and it is a gift that God bestowes upon those whom he chooses (the number of people receiving this gift amounts to 144,000 as brought out in Revelation 14), and these ones will rule as kings and priests alongside the glorified Jesus Christ for 1000 years, and (2) the earthly hope (which is held out to a much larger group and is the realization of God's original purpose for mankind, that the earth be filled with perfect, obedient humans who will enjoy perfect health and live in paradisaic surroundings.
Jesus Christ referred to the small group that inherits heavenly life as "the little flock", and the group that will have perfect life on earth forever as "the other sheep". There is no reason for us to think that heaven is the ultimate goal for us if we're faithful to God. A read-through of the Bible book of Genesis tells us that God's purpose for man was not that they end up in heaven, but that they fill the earth and make it the paradise God intended it to be.

I posted this in another question but figured it would apply here too.
"Will you be resurrected? That is up to God and God alone.
But at our meeting, yesterday, the Speaker gave a great talk about the purpose of life.
The purpose of life is to glory God and doing the work he wants us to do which ultimately enriches our lives now and can lead to everlasting life.
He (the Speaker) gave 5 "requirements".
1- take in accurate knowledge of God and Jesus in harmony with John 17:3
2- repent in harmony with Acts 3:19 We must be TRULY sorry for past wrongs
3- conversion... in line with Acts 26:20 Which means we have to make adjustments in our life to be in harmony with what the Bible teaches... which also means listening to Hebrews 10:25 which tells us to meet with fellow believers (going to "church")
4- After we take in accurate knowledge and turn our life around from willful sin, we follow Matthew 16:24 and make a dedication to God that we will place him first in our life and do what he purposes.
5- Finally, in harmony with 1 Peter 3:21 we are baptized.
The excellent point was: Many people wonder if they can study the Bible whenever they want to, be a good person, lead a good life, dedicate their life to God but hold off on baptism and still expect everlasting life.
He gave the illustration of a man driving down a road and seeing a bunch of people bringing in a harvest. They were having a good time so he decided to help. He worked at it whenever he wanted until the work was done. Now, all these people go speak to the owner for their reward. Should the man expect to be paid with everyone else? No. He never spoke to the owner of the field before he chipped in. He didn't have a contract for any services he offered.
Likewise, by being baptized, we make a public declaration that we will live no longer for ourself only but for God. And that declaration is our "contract" with God that if we do our best to live according to God's will, he'll resurrect us. But, of course, only God truly knows if we're truly doing our best...
The Bible says there will be a resurrection of the righteous as well as the unrighteous (Acts 24:15). That includes children and babies and everyone who never had the opportunity to get to know Jehovah God.
Only 144.000 people go to heaven. Everyone else will be resurrected to live on a perfected planet as in the days or Adam and Eve."
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Wicca (at least as I was taught and practice it):
Assuming that an afterlife exists, ALL are admitted into the blessed presence of the Divine, regardless of their religion, creed, race, etc. The love of the Gods is truly unconditional. The benefits of living a good, moral, upstanding life are not that living such a life will get you into "heaven", but that such things are valuable for their own sakes.

Christianity - you can do nothing to make it to heaven. The only hope you have of entering heaven is to realize you have sinned against a Holy God, to repent or turn from your sins, and believe by faith in Christ alone who paid the penalty for your sins, so that you might have peace with God.

In my lack of religion, heaven exists when I am with my kids and showing love to those around me.
I enjoy life and happy times, and don't feel the need to convince anyone that Leprechauns are real and the path to the pot of gold lies at the end of the rainbow, as written in the book of kells.

In Judaism the belief is that everyone will go. As far as observing the Jewish law etc that is for a different reason that could take a book to explain.

going to heaven means that in a religion heaven must exist. some believe in limbo, some become reincarnated, others goto the summerland. regardless when it comes to any specific religion you have to follow their ways or you're not going to get to their version of "heaven".
