Well, there could be lint. There could also be "grime" from sweat. The technical name for the belly button is called the umbilicus. It serves no purpose after birth. During the pregnancy you're connected to your mother via the umbilicus to the placenta- which provides all of your nutrients, oxygen, etc.

nothing, the "belly button" or navel is just a scar remaining from where your umbilical cord attached you to your mother in the womb.
