First of all, you are making too great of a generalization. I am considered Protestant and I don't HATE the Catholic CHurch. As a matter of fact, several of my Protestant and Catholic Friends get together and have great fellowship.

Secondly, my knowledge of Christ came from the Bible.

Now tying in the two questions: Some people hold a disdain for the Catholic Church because a. the actions of a few Priests, (sexual immorality crimes) b. The whole confessing your sins to a man issue, c. praying to Mary, d. the fact that the Catholic Church opposed laity reading the Word of God as individuals for quite a while.

I hoped this helped and I wish you well.

I don't hate anyone, but Catholics did not give others the knowledge of Christ.

Reading, owning or possessing a Bible was forbidden by RC church and carried the death penalty.

Nor was the Bible read at Mass except in Latin if that. Ritualized prayers and stand up, sit down, kneel, burn a candle stuff was done.

It has only been the last 100 years or so that RC priests actually had to prepare sermons and tell Catholics much of anything about the Bible or anything except Rosary beads, Mary, saints and RC tradition.

It was Protestants who gave the Bible to RC church.

you have obviously had some bad experiences with protestants, most of them don't hate the Catholic Church.

Certainly not the Catholic church (or Protestant churches for that matter)

Ephesians 3:2 if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, 3 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),

Look carefully at verse 4......

I do not hate the Catholic Church, I just disagree with its teaching. I received my knowledge of Christ through the Holy Spirit and the King James Bible.

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

The knowledge of Christ comes from Christ, does it not? He IS the Church. Catholics are part of His body just as much as those of the "protestant" denominations, and vice versa.

I believe that is an unrealistic statement and may only represent the views of a minority.
You May correctly ask why ANY group (ethnic, national, color, religion, orientation, class ad infinidum) dislikes another.
It comes down to personal preferences forged through heredity and environment meaning it comes down to very complex reasons.
Even some of the most virulent anti-Catholicism, take Rev. Ian Paisley in Northern Ireland, have a way of mitigating their antagonism if they see some personal benefit to making a change.

Many Protestants attack our Church to justify the existence of their own. Fortunately that is not all of them or even the majority. I think that often what you see on-line here are fundamentalist extremists that not only hate Catholics but also hate just about everyone they don't attend church with.

The proper prospective is why do they have problems with the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church? The reason dates back to the early years of the Church. The Church as an entity took on tradition over pure doctrine and have strayed on doctrine away from the Scriptures. The Church today has many views that Protestants strongly disagree with and that is why the split. Hopefully, all sides look to the other with compassion and a hunger for unity over hatred!

Hope that helps.

First off, the premise of your "question" is faulty. You assume that we "hate" the Catholic church, which we don't.

Second, your denomination may have been around longer than mine, but you have no proprietary claim on God's Truth. God gives us the knowledge of Jesus Christ the Lord.
