Some guys just have a hard time showing affection. When do you ask him to show affection because if its in public it might not happen. Also, how long have you been in the relationship cause if its been months then it may be because he has gotten used to you and he doesn't wanna show affection all the time.

Give him space, but find a way to remind him that he really needs you. I won't tell you that you're smothering him, but maybe you are trying to make him fill a jar of emotions that he isn't quite ready for. Perhaps you are greatly lacking the love or attention of family members or friends. If that's the case you may be tying a rope around his neck and pulling him in a bit too close for his comfort. He might feel overwhelmed by your needs. I recommend you spoil him a bit by doing something together that he really likes. This could possibly include playing video games, watching sports or movies together. Be friends and lovers at the same time. There must be something very special about this guy if you've stuck with him this long. Relate to him in these ways and he'll be sure to come around. Remember: He needs you as much as you need him, if not more.

If you have to ask a guy for affection, you need a new boyfriend. Of course he doesn't want you smothering him by being all over him when he's relaxing, so give him some space. If, however, he doesn't offer you hugs and kisses and cuddling on a regular basis, RUN GIRL RUN.

Sounds like he is not your boyfriend in the way in which you wish. Also sounds like you are smothering him with your constant demands that he demonstrate "his love". Stop being so dependent of him providing you with an expression of your own self-worth. Perhaps you need to take a good look at what you think "love" is.

If he is not affectionate, probably will never be. Affection comes from the "inner personality", from the heart. He can "pretend" to be affectionate if you ask him, but it won't last if he does not have it "within".

Well how long have you guys been together first of all?? Sometimes guys just need their space and guys are never our perfect vision of a "Fairytale man"
Mine is like that sometimes, but it could mean anything....sometimes they have a bad day, other times they are tired, etc.
I get paranoid about that sometimes well I used to...most guys just aren't romantic like we are bottom line...hope things get better with this situation.

I think he's got this fear of getting affectionate. He thinks it will open him up to being a softie and therefore, you'll move in and break his heart.
Alternatively, he could simply be trying to see if you'll stick around.

Is this my GF. Some guys don't like girls to be all over them and so co-Dependant. Get a hobbie, read a book, do something and stop smothering him.

u said this: I always wanna be on top of him when he is relaxing. Maybe you are smothering him, and he just watnes to be left alone. That may be his way of telling you to go away.
