He probably does like you. He may be scared or just a little apprehensive. Most guys won't act the way he's acted unless he likes you a lot. Just be cool and don't rush things. That's when it can get kind of messy. Allow him to make the next move.

LOL, he KNOWS if he likes you, don't let him kid you, he just doesn't want to commit to a sexual relationship. Doesn't sound like mixed signals to me, he is just interested in being your friend. Why can't you just "like" the guy and enjoy what he wants to give without trying to make it something more? If his is willing to be a friend, rather than a "boyfriend" (which is what it sounds like you are trying to make him) he might even remember who you are 6 months after you get out of school, which most "boyfriends" you have in school assuredly will not.
