When training repetition is the key.Start the basic commands-Sit,Lay,Wait(wait is helpful later when you open the door so he doesn't go running out side until you are ready)Stay. And you can do these as the need arises during the day as a matter of course.Sitting in the couch?Put a leash on him/her and place him in a lay, saying lay firmly.Step on the leash gently if needed, and keep your foot on it so he understands what lay and stay are, make sure you command stay ,too.Do this every day for a few minutes, until he's old enough to do it for a half hour.Ignore him completely for the time you do this,it teaches that he needs to lay down and be good for a while without attention from you.Say things once and have him do it immediately,if you say it three or four times now,he'll see that you will, and will hesitate when you give a command until you've said it three or four times. That is not listening,so say it once, and get it,now. You will have to place him onto position the first few times or so.You can teach sit in a few minutes time, too.Say sit,get the sit by gently pushing his rump down, give him a treat, and say good dog,'SIT" good dog,or whatever, but you want him to sit while you are praising,so say sit between praising him so he will still sit. When commanding your dog, draw out your words.Saying sit in a weak voice is not a command, its a request that will be ignored if not said properly.Be the leader by saying Si-i-i-ttt.It sounds like a growl to them, and you will not believe the difference.Same for any other command, like St-a-a-ayyy.If you need any more info ,contact me,and I can explain further if need be,but I've given you the basics.

What specific issues are you having? What are you attempting to train them to do? Is it potty training? --- If so, potty training takes a lot of time, patience and consistency. Set your kitchen timer for 1 hour and every time it goes off, no matter what you or the puppy is doing, take them out. If they don't go potty, bring them back in, put them in their crate for 5 minutes, then let them back out right away (no playing or dawdeling).

with any training, regardless of what your trying to get him to do...... the trick is repetition, and positive reinforcement. He'll get the hang of it, just be patient. Remember he's just a baby!! :)
