It’s a unique and rare privilege to be able to give a best man speech because you have to squeeze a lifetimes worth of memories onto a small piece of paper and balance it just right to make the most perfect and enjoyable speech.
So I hope your not all expecting much!
For anyone who doesn’t know me my name is (My Name), I’m (Grooms Name) little brother and for everyone who does know me you have my condolences!
It’s an honor and a pleasure to be (Grooms Name) Best Man,
May I first say that there is no words to describe how beautiful (Brides Name) looks today and I’m happy to have her as my new sister in law, and I must also complement the bridesmaids because they are looking great, and there’s a man who needs no introduction, he’s a man who is as good as the come, he’s an inspiration to most of his friends, he’s smart, loyal, got a very witty sense of humor, he’s charismatic and he’s very attractive the women just adore him. But enough about me because this is (Grooms Name) day so I have made a large list of (Grooms Name) accomplishments in life in honor of the occasion!
Now tradition would dictate that this speech impart would be an opportunity to bring up embarrassing moments in (Grooms Name) past in front of all his family and friends, but I’ve got to tell you I’m above that.
I’m not going to tell you about the time when (Grooms Name) came in my room and closed the door behind him which didn’t actually have a handle on it and at the time (because our Dad earlier on the day had been painting the doors) which meant we where locked in together, also Mum & Dad where at a parents evening meeting one of (Grooms Name) college tutors so she could tell them how brilliant and smart he is and as proof of that he came up with the ingenious idea of how to get us out the room, he suggested I jump out the window and try to land on top of the conservatory roof, lets just say his plan never worked out. That would be out of line for me to mention that moment.
So instead to give you all a brief insight into what it has been like to spend a lifetime with (Grooms Name), I am going to tell you all a little bit about life in the 80’s to early 90’s, a time when many of the guys had Afro’s and mustaches and even some girls, Video Cameras were huge and TV’s were tiny and Mum’s always made their kids wear matching outfits no matter how annoying it was (and that fad still hasn’t gone out of fashion)!
One of the highlights of that time had to be going on holiday to the haven camps. It had everything dancing, games, talent contests for the kids and fancy dress contests. Talking about the fancy dress contests it would be wrong of me not to show you all (Grooms Name) in his prime so if you would all please allow me to unveil the photo (Show Photo). I would just like to mention also I won (Show Trophy)!
But on a serious note now (Grooms Name) has always been there and supported me, something that I am sure he will do for his beautiful new wife, (Brides Name).
He’s hard working and affectionate to the ones he loves most.
He has achieved a lot and become a great man and I’m sure he will tell all of you one of his greatest achievements is marrying (Brides Name), they reflect each others best quality’s and I love you both and I wish you both all the happiness in the world.

TO LONG YOU DON'T NEED TO DESCRIBE THEM TO EVERYONE. THEY SHOULD ALREADY KNOW THEM IF THEY ARE AT THE WEDDING.

Too long (even more than the other one).

I other oen way way funnier.

Please go to your other question where I edited the speeh for clarity and time.

I love your speech. Just keep it short. Here is my suggestion:

Hello, my name is (My Name), I’m (Grooms Name) little brother and best man. It’s a unique and rare privilege to be able to give a best man speech because you have to squeeze a lifetimes worth of memories onto a small piece of paper.
But enough about me because this is (Grooms Name) .
Now tradition would dictate that this speech impart would be an opportunity to bring up embarrassing moments in (Grooms Name) past in front of all his family and friends, but I’ve got to tell you I’m above that.
I’m not going to tell you about the time when (Grooms Name) suggested to jump out the window and try to land on top of the conservatory roof. That would be out of line for me to mention that moment.
And it would be even worse to talk about the time when we were kids and he decided to have snow ball fight with the help of a little Chihuahua Dog we had (Dogs Name, you were so helpful) and Mum had never warned (Grooms Name) that; “Snow doesn’t come in yellow”. That would be completely and utterly unfair of me to talk about those moments tonight.
On a serious note, the groom is a great man and I’m sure he will tell all of you one of his greatest achievements is marrying (Brides Name). I love you both and I wish you both all the happiness in the world.

Visit a website like thebestman.com, watch the Wedding Singer, etc.

Do NOT be serious with the best man speech. Keep it light and keep it fun.

It is the Maid of Honor's job to be serious and make everyone cry. It is YOUR job to make everyone laugh.

Also - if time and funds permit - visit Tijuana or Vegas with the groom the final weeks before the wedding. Make sure that you have a GREAT story from that trip to talk about.

Personally, I'd only tell one funny story about your brother before moving on to the nice part. People will get confused if you joke too long, then switch gears.

If you want to tell one of the jokes, I'd go with the afro picture. People will get a laugh out of the picture without a doubt.

But remember, people really want to hear how much you care for your brother and new sister-in-law. I would put more time into that part of the speech than the jokes.

It is WAY TOO LONG.

It's a TOAST - - - not a SPEECH

Welcome to the wedding everyone... my brother is a lucky guy... the bride is a beautiful woman... they make a wonderful couple, blah blah balh... insert one funny joke.... talk about how wonderful he is and how they will have a lifetime of happiness... the end.

No one wants to take a trip down memory lane into the 80's. And there is no need for show and tell.

Keep it simple.

Too long.

One suggestion: take out this line "So I hope your not all expecting much!" and replace it with- "I am going to do my best"

Don't set the expectation that your speech will be bad. I know you're trying to make light of it, but you should be sincere. Don't apologize upfront, you will lower everyone expectations.
