A friend who stutters told me that she got a book on Self Therapy from The Stuttering Foundation of America. She has been working on it and is getting better. She got a paper or pamphlet from their web site about stuttering and employers that she took with her when she went for an interview. Check their web site.

The source of help for my family was The Stuttering Foundation of America and their book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" that you can get from them, from Amazon.com, and other sources. Stuttering (or stammering) is not something that you can get over fast, but if you follow the steps in the book and work on each thing, you will get better.

http://stammeringcentre.org/s-index is another good source of help, I have heard.

I'm afraid you can't overcome it very fast, not if you've been doing it since you were a child. You should go see your doctor who can put you in touch with speech therepists who teach you how to breathe correctly and other things to make speaking easier.

talk slow and think before you speak- thats the fastest way.
also- don't be nervous
