Does it hurt all of the time or only on certain occasions?? I had a child at summer camp where I was the director who had a belly ache every morning. Come to find out that he was lactose intolerant and no one knew it. He was getting sick feeling from the milk he was having with his cereal every morning. I would look at your child's diet and see if it is something simple that might be causing the problem. Other than something like that, there could me many reasons, including emotional reasons for a child to have a tummy ache. Is he having problems at school...is the stomach ache occurring on the weekends when he doesn't have to go to school? I would see medical advice from a doctor for sure and quickly just to be on the safe side. :) Good luck and hope your little boy feels better soon!

While don't you try to be a real parent and take your child to the doctors. People like you don't deserve to have children.
This is from the mom!
Message: guess u didnt read the rest of the question....he does this often to get out of going to school and yes i did take him to the dr. they wont do test on his belly at this dr. because he is to young. i thought he was just pulling something over on me untill he did it at church last night. so i called his dr thats when he said i would have to take him to another dr. like laboner somewhere for children. so your answer was really hurtful i love my son will all my heart some parents wouldnt even ask anyone what was wrong....not that are the ppl that dont need children. God Bless u!
This was my reply!
First off, you should have asked the question in completion and also told us you took your son to the doctors. Do you think I am a ******* mind reader. Why would you ask people the what the **** was wrong with you son on the intranet? Get off the computer and take care of your son. I do not give a **** if I hurt you poor little feelings. If he is not faking it take him to the hospital. You are still a bad mother for being on the computer instead of taking care of your son

There are so many things that could cause stomache upsets in a child that age you should really take him to a doctor as soon as possible.

It could be food he has ingested, an ulcer, things he is worrying about, problems with an appendix, ulcerative colitis.......I could go on and on.

It could be a really big deal or nothing at all but you won't know unless you get medical attention. The doctor should know all the right questions to as to narrow down the cause.

good luck!

In all honesty, I can remember when in the old days they used to give an enema for this. I believe that the enema was worse than the ailment. The thing is that all my kids went through it about that age. I think that it is either stress or growing pains. I would take him to a doctor if you are really worried OR he has vomiting, diarrhea, a temperature that is high or can pin point the pain to an exact location on his belly.

It makes a difference what side of the "gut" the pain is on. If it is on the right side then it could be a indicator for appendicitis....which could be deadly and extremely painful if left untreated for too long.
Otherwise it could be constipation, allergies to food, etc.
Basically it could be nothing, or it could be something huge. If you dont have health insurance, take him to a free or low cost clinic soon. The ER would be my last choice. They are not good with diagnostics really.

I would get him checked out. Whether he's using it as an excuse, or there is seriously something going on...it needs to be checked out. My daughter suffers from stomach aches and heartburn all the time. I've had her to doctors so many times, but I'll continue to bring her until I get a valid diagnosis. She is 8 as well.

you know...as always -most home remedies are not so good. past down from our relatives who lived through the depression. a call to a on call nurse would be able to help you more than someone in the answer community. stomach areas have a lot of things that can and do go wrong. seek medical advise.

It could be a whole host of things...depending on where the pain is it could be a pendasistis or hernia or ulcer or even a growth. I would take him into the Doctors office for a proper diagnosis.

if he is complaining about his right side it could be his appendix so you better watch that
I know this sounds strange but my brother was 11 and had gall stones removed
but he could just be constipated and not having a Bowell movement on a regular schedule
In any case I would take him to the Dr.
