And that beliefs are primary basis of worth for people?

(And how does this affect their actions toward others, if at all?)

I, like Dr. King, dream of a day when everyone will judge eachother based on nothing more than the content of their character.

Our actions coincide with what we believe. And that applies to every person on earth.

There is only one faith based religion, that is Christianity. All others are based on human effort- confession and sacrifice (Roman Mass), ritual and fasting (Eastern Orthodoxy), prayer and fasting (Islam), pilgrimage, ritual worship and general do-gooding (Hinduism), self-denial (Buddhism), or some such thing. These religions, ironically, produce few if any genuinely good actions- the world would be far different if they did. They sometimes produce acts of 'charity' to look good, but genuinely loving acts they cannot produce, because there is no motivation to love in these religions. They are all based on self-interest, in the end.

Christianity says, if you believe, you will do real good works of love, because you have been forgiven through love. That makes all the difference in practice. Christ's purpose in dying on the cross was to change us so that we will do good works in our everyday lives.

There are far fewer real Christians than Christian claimants, though, and most people have never met a Christian. Many people hate the idea of Christianity because they hate the goodness that shows up their own wickedness. So things get confused, and seem not to be clear cut; but the message of Jesus is the same for all of us, and that is clear enough.

NO ONE knows mans heart except GOD

and we can only Judge righteously through and By His Word........

A mans character can change with situations....but Gods Word never changes.......
so by it one is Known of whom He is !!!

And its by Faith in HIM, not man thats the basis of a True Believer.......

and religions are man made
thus in error

TRUTH is GOD made
so its infalliable

Yes, this is one of the most harmful parts of faith based religion.

Any religion that can enable people to accept eternal torture as just is incredibly harmful and violent.

Christianity believes that we are actions and thoughts are equally important.

If we rejected evolution, which says that Blacks are the nearest thing to apes, racism would probably end.

We're all made from one blood.

In Christianity, we are saved by grace through faith.....and not works.

However......

Our good works after salvation are a manifestation of our salvation.....in other words......the fruit.

When one becomes saved, we are supposed to be Christ-like at all times......and this includes the way we act towards one another.

James 2:24 - "You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone."

yes faith and belief are important but you gotta walk the walk if your gunna talk the talk. It is no use loving God but hurting him by doing things that dont please him. By doing what God has commanded us we show others Gods love through our actions!

Faith without works is dead. Both components need to be present for it to mean anything.
