Planet Mars being so close to the Earth in the next month will be a sign of anything to come. Experts are saying it will be able to be seen with the naked eye
According to computer models, in ancient times Earth and Mars had near fly-bys at multiples of 55 years. It was so regular and often so catastrophic that generals are said to have planned their battles around this. Maybe this is how Mars got named after the god of war. It's speculated that Mars caused Joshua's long day (Joshua 10), appearing in the morning sky 50 times the size of the moon on the day of his battle with the Amorite Kings
Earth and Mars are converging for a close encounter in December.

"As Earth races towards Mars, the telescopic views are becoming increasingly spectacular," says Petersen.

I would ask this of astrologists. They will know more about possible etherial conflicts associated with this wonderous event. Especially those with Mars as their sign or rising sign.
That will be great to see though, thanks for the heads up.

Yes, by all means, wear tinfoil.

Earth passes Mars about once a year. Sometimes we are closer to each other than other times. The very closest pass was several years ago -- I guess you forgot all the hype about that.

No, Mars will NOT seem 50 times the size of the moon, or anything even close to the size of the moon. At its very closest, it's not much more than a dot -- well, a little bigger than a dot.

No, it doesn't effect Earth in any way -- except a lot of people hype themselves into a frenzy, and completely insane rumors fly about how Mars will look HUGE, and cause all sorts of problems.

"Close" is, after all, relative. It's not really much closer than it is every year (both orbits are a bit eccentric -- that's why it's not exactly the same distance every year).

So, if you insist that this will be a Big Deal Thing, then you will definitely need the Tinfoil hat -- to either prevent or allow the beings living on Mars communicating directly with your brain.

Um, it's visible to the naked eye now. Just look for a yellowish star in the East during the evening hours. Mars and Earth end up on the same side of the Sun every two years or so. Some years they are closer than others. They got nearly as close as they can get back in 2003. Did you notice then? Did you see it? Feel it? Yeah. It might help to look up once in a while. Or poke a hole or two in the hat.

You are blowing this event WAY out of proportion. Nothing this spectacular is actually going to happen. It will be very close to the moon in the sky tonight though, so take a look to the east around 9pm and you should see it!

Since Mars does not have a gravitational impact on the earth it should not cause any problems.

full moon, mars and winter solstice (lacking most light on solstice)!

Sounds like a mix for a good war.
I often wondered in history's past if there was any patterns of planets with past wars.

Wear what pleases you... heck you might look great in a tinfoil hat. Festive to say the least.
