For example:
There once was a lord from Nantucket
who turned water to wine in a bucket
on the plus sign, he died
all his followers cried
all because Judas said "F*** it."
~Jason Fenwick
(I know Jesus was not said to be from Nantucket... but hey, it's just a story, after all. Who cares if the "facts" are factual.)

Judas was a theif and a coward. As for your question, the words "if the bible were" defeats your own argument. The Bible is not a book of lyrics but the book of life. It would be wiser of you to read it before you place this type of judgement on it. The bible is the written Word of the Living God. It can change your life if you allow it to.

Many hidden messages in there from God :)
Here is a message from the Koran, that teaches, kill jews and christians,
Sura (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"
Sura (8:15) - "O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey's end."
Sura (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."
Sura (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"

Have you read the Bible..You see no difference between Love your fellow man and a limerick? You think a limerick and the Sermon on the Mount are in the same class?

I once believe in a God,
but reading his word was quite odd,
I abhorred all the violence,
and hated the silence,
and realized it all was just sod.
