Given your age and weight, please consult your doctor before starting a diet and/or exercise program.
Weight loss is really quite simple; there are only two things you need do to reach your goals:
1. Restrict daily calories to 1600 calories per day. By increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat, you will be able to keep your intake at this level without feeling hungry or uncomfortable.
2. Exercise for one hour a day, every single day. It can be anything from pilates to just plain walking, but do it. One hour. Every day.
This is a pretty simple recipe for weight loss, but it works. It has worked for me; I have lost 62 pounds this way. I even lost weight over Thanksgiving. It will work for you if you commit to it and stick to it.
Good luck!

You should start with walking as much as possible. Simple lifestyle changes like taking stairs insted of elevators, taking an after dinner walk insted of watching T.V . and planning fun activities on the weekend (maybe with a spouse or friend) such as hiking, biking, swimming, skating, skiing, or some type of class (martial arts, dance, aerobics, cycling). Pay attention to what you are eating---you may even keep a two week food diary where you write down everything that you eat or drink, the amount, and the date and time. You will likely be suprized by how much you consume in a day. Cut down on things that are destructive to your body such as soda, sweets, high fat and high cholesterol items, and definitely limit fast foods restaurants to no more than 2-3 times a month. DRINK LOTS OF WATER---even if you don't like water---you will grow accustomed to it---its very important!
If you are 100 pounds over weight, it would be in your best interest to talk with your doctor before beginning any strict exercise plan as your heart may need some monitoring to make sure it can handle stress beyond daily walking. If you can't talk with a doctor, at least limit yourself to walking only for the first 4-6 weeks to get your body prepared for more intense exercise. Don't over do it on your first week---start out slowly and gradually increase you speed and distance.
The main thing to keep in mind is that you CAN loose the weight. No excuses allowed!!

You should be eating about 1400-1800 calories a day!
Eat better and get lots of exercise!!!
Eat a good lunch of a sandwich, some carrots, maybe some popcorn, breakfast, protein bar, wheat toast, fruit, dinner, small portion of meat lots of vegies. Snacks, carrots, nuts, fruit, 100 calorie bags.
You don't have to kill yourself to lose weight, but eat sensibly and control your portions!! As you eat better, try and exercise vigoriously 30 minutes a day. See what happens after a month.
Weight loss is SLOW!!!! This is changing your lifestyle through healthy eating and lots of exercise.
That's the BIG SECRET of losing weight and keeping it off!!

A good start is to find a walking buddy and go power-walking at least 4 days a week. Then you should cut out ALL sugary foods and drinks (even diet drinks, stick with water or tea). Last cut your carbohydrate intake in half and increase your veggie intake(steamed, boiled, or raw ONLY!!)
This should be a good start to your plan to lose wieght, accordingly to your age.
Take it easy and dont try to overdo it. :)
-good luck and take care
