Hi all, is it possible to join any of the military special forces after 30? Seals, Airborne, Delta, PJ's, Combat controller, etc..I am currently 32 but in great shape and stay healthy so my body isn't actually 32 lol. I read somewhere that you could possibly get an age waiver. Thanks

Thanks for the replies guys. After I asked the question I hear from a Navy guy. He said it is possible to get a waiver for the seals. From what I read about the airforce the max age to join is 27. I wonder why they differ from other branches. To bad, my brother was a PJ so that would have been a nice option. ~Chris

yes and no.

You cannot be a PJ or CCT, because the max age to enlist in the AF is 27 years old. If you had prior service, they might waive up to 4 years on age, but with no mprior service, you don't have a chance.

You cannot be a seal, for the same reason, max age is 28.

You can do airborne in the army at age 32.

You could also get a RIP contract and go Ranger at age 32.

I don't think Special Forces has a max age limit, its based on ability.

You may not be able to have that be your initial MOS, but can always be recruited into it once you are in the service. They only way to know it to talk to your recruiter.

Ask for an age waiver. Keep pushing for it. Don't sign a contract that doesn't say spec ops if that's what you really want. Meps can help with that. Just because you have your physical and all that doesn't mean you have to sign that day. Fight for the MOS you want and don't settle.
