There is no way to Prove to someone that God exists. It is a belief. As for being able to see something that has goes on forever in both directions... you can use math. Think of the largest number there is on earth...(that we have a name for)... then add one.... It can go on like that forever. It also works in reverse. Negative numbers also can go on forever too. There is no beginning and no end when it come to numbers because you can always add one more or take one more away no matter how many you have.

There's a book called 'The Cloud of Unknowing' that would explain it, but I think it's probably too advanced for your sister.
What I took from it is tihs:
God is love, and only love. Each of us is at once separate from and part of God, and when we die, we rejoin the greater whole that is God.
God cannot be known or understood through any means but love. Unless you love, the God that you think you understand is not really God.
The way I see it, God has always existed and always will exist. We'll never know where God comes from, and I'm okay with that. It's not really an important question. The important question is, do we behave in a loving (considerate) way toward others in our daily lives? If so, then we are behaving in a Godly way, and that's all that matters.
I have no idea if that will satisfy your sister or not. I will say that she's exploring the same questions I did when I was younger, and questiioning what you're told is a good thing.
There are some things you really _can't_ understand until you're older. When I was a teenager, the statement, "The Tao that can be perceived is not the true Tao." completely baffled and confused me. But when I read 'The Cloud,' I suddenly realized what it meant, and it was beautiful.

The answer as others have stated is God has always been. It is in the bible not just something christians made up to get around the question. And in all reality no matter what you believe there had to be an uncaused agent in the beginning. Atheist want to say that our answer is stupid but they have to believe that the universe was an uncaused event and has always existed (which science has proven that the universe had a beginning) or that there are multiple universes that extend to infinity (this isn't even logical) or that matter and energy always existed (some say that it is a fact that matter and energy can not be destroyed so they use this as proof that it is eternal, I don't have an argument against this) . That takes care of the question of how God got there but you still need to give evidence of God's existence which there is plenty of, mind you it's not proof it is evidence. Just take the time and research it. Godandscience.org, answersingenesis.com and many other sites give arguments for God's existence.

Get her to look around at the beauty of nature. The truth is, the astronomical odds of each individual species of plants & animals arriving through "random genetic mutation" are infinitesimal.
Besides... ask your sister when was the last time she witnessed (or anyone else on earth for that matter) a random genetic mutation arise in the birth of a new species of anything (even a fly)? In fact, random genetic mutations result in the disease or death of the animal, plant or person that suffered it - not "improvements".
I know you're Christian but I'll share with you a verse from another holy book, the Quran:
22:73 O people, an example is presented, so listen to it. Indeed, those you invoke besides God will never create [as much as] a fly, even if they gathered together for that purpose. And if the fly should steal away from them a [tiny] thing, they could not recover it from him.
Oh, and here's one more:
21:30 Do the unbelievers not realize that the heaven and the earth used to be one solid mass that we exploded into existence? And from water we made all living things. Would they believe?
keep in mind that verse was written in the 7th century, and the "big bang" was only discovered within the last century....
Peace!

Does God exist? Not the first time this question has been asked. Try these:
Ask her how she know right from wrong? Without God, why not steal or tell lies? A person cannot tell if a line is crooked if he doesn't know what a straight line looks like.
If you are a Christian, you can respect other religions, as there are at least some elements of truth to them. However, if you are an atheist, you have to believe that the underlying principle of all relgions is false.
Try reading Mere Christianity, by C.S. Lewis for an easy to read look at Christianity which also talks about his conversion from atheism to Christianity.
If you want to get really in depth, St. Thomas Aquinas's Summa Theologica gave five philosphical proofs to the existance of God. It was written in 1274, so people have been asking this question for awhile.

Evidence? Like his birth certificate? Wow, I wanna see that too!
Seriously, though: In the beginning there was God and then he started making everything. So God did not come here, he already was here, as a matter of fact he is everywhere. Now one school says since he made everything and he was the only thing here - he made everything from light and dark to people and shoelaces from himself. So he is in everything, that is how he knows everything that happens - "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's will" ( Matthew 10-29) - God knows where the sparrow falls, because he is the life in the sparrow and the energy in the molecular bonds of the ground and all the atoms and all the light and all the dark. So God is with you always, they say, right? And they are serious. It does follow that God is cool with everything, even gross stuff, because it is all part of Him and His Earth.
So you can discuss this and look at information about energy inside atoms and the miracle of life - and that is as close as I can get you. Someone devout here can get you closer, I am sure.

Blind faith is a dangerous and ignorant trait. Some people may feel the need to have a crutch like the belief in a higher being - perhaps it's their own insecurities. Some people get on with their lives and treat others with respect without the need to believe in the existence of a god figure. Let her find her own path. As long as she's an open minded individual and respects herself and others... no problems.

The first thing is all religious knowledge is faith. You can read about faith in the Hebrews. 11:1 - Faith is belief or hope is something that is not proven. The second something is proven to you, you can't have faith.
Faith is the power behind all action. For example, the only reason we take a step is because we have faith that our leg will be able to hold our weight and sustain our body in an upright position. At any time, your body could possibly crumble in a heap because your leg just can't take the pressure. Your faith is repaid when you step and your body is held up.
Faith in Christ works the same way. I have faith that He will sustain and bless me if I keep the commandments He has given. I have had my life sustained - I have survived at least two, no three, very serious accidents that could have killed me. I can repent of my sins (we all have some) and try again to be my best because I have faith that He forgives the repentant.
You can't make your sister believe. Just believe and "let your light so shine before [your sister] that she may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven."

Let your sister know that God's exsistance is evident in the sun, the moon, the clouds, the animals, the sea, just the world being the way it is is all because of God creating it. Let her know that she is proof that God exsists, she did not just happen to be here, God created her, and let her know that in order to go to heaven she must believe in Him. Yes, as Christians we have all probably had that thought "where did God come from", but there are some things that we are just going to have to trust and belive that it is real. But the main thing is to trust and believe that God is real and that we can see evidence of Him all around us, when we breathe, when we wake up and see another day, it is the grace of God that is upon us, blessing us. He is the only power that we can pray to and see things happen, He is the only power that can heal the sick and raise the dead. God is alive and His son Jesus is who we must pray to in order to receive more of the what God has in store for us. The bible says in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh to the Father, but by me". These are the words of Jesus, and He is letting us know that we must pray to Jesus in order to get to God, this is evidence that God exsists, Jesus would not have us pray to Him to get to a non exsistant person, Jesus is not a liar. Just tell your sister that it would be in her best interest to believe in God so that she can one day dwell in His heavenly home. The proof is all around her everyday. God bless.

God created space and time. Therefore, He must live outside, or beyond both of them.So literally, there can have been no 'before' for God. It's tough for non physicists to comprehend. Tell her to study quantum mechanics or astrophysics. It'll give her a clue.
It's impossible to provide material proof of God. You can rip every molecule and every atom in the universe up and never find a single particle of love or justice or mercy. Some things simply cannot be quantified.

Every time I see my kids, I know that there is a God. Every time I see the mountains, I know that there is a God. Every time I see other humans/animals/insects/anything and everything...young and old...I know there is a God.
For some reason, I have never struggled with this. I feel bad for people that do. But, for many, they need more proof than merely what is in front of them. Which is okay too...I am not here to judge them, I am just stating what makes me a believer. I have certainly had my share of disappointments that should make my beliefs falter, but, in the long run...my faith wins.
Good luck with your future discussions with your little sister. She may come around to our beliefs one day :~)
