Are you asking if we can escape the process of natural selection?

Or are you saying that the theory is irrational?

'irrational process'? Counterintuitive, perhaps, but natural selection is a simple and accurate as any other fine judging process: the best survive and replace the less good, and the bad die out.

And a 'rational mind' is another experiment by evolution, which has allowed a naked, weaponless ape to become king of all he surveys. At this stage it looks like a good experiment as a way to solve the problem of living.

But we could still sterilise the planet...

Since a rational mind is a function of an anatomical organ, an organ that is present in all but the simplest of animal forms, it is obvious that rationality evolved as a function of brain evolution. This is clearly seen in the ability of some other species to make rational choices to the extent that their degree of brain complexity and level of intelligence allow.

Err...evolution is not irrational and it is not random. But the short answer is that your mind did evolve so it obviously could.

Given the number of people who think the Bible was simply zapped from the sky one sunny morning, I'd have to say it doesn't seem so.

logic states, doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results, is insanity.
By consistently denouncing logic in favor of a invisible being that runs your every minute, is insanity.
