If you're considering finding religion/spirituality again, why not research some other paths? Not all religions take your money or hold services in massively expensive cathedrals. My church is Nature...pretty cheap! You might be able to find something that speaks to your soul in a more positive way. Good luck!

I share similar views with you. What I'm doing is researching all "faiths"& spirituality. I don't have an answer for you as to where you should go but in learning & researching I've become much more open to all ideas. I think that was the problem I had with it in the first place- everyone makes you feel like there "way" is the only way. It makes things kinda "clickie" an I hate clicks! Do some searching & stay openminded. Best wishes!

As a fellow Catholic ( I went through RCIA...I was a Wiccan before conversion) the absolute best advise I can give you is to go to RCIA classes before you throw away your Catholic faith. You have every ability to, but I think that you should give it an honest chance first. I used to think along the same lines as you are now about Churches and Christianity in general. IT wasn't untill RCIA class that all of my questions were answered for me and I understood why Catholics believe the way they believe. Now, I love my faith, and I notice when I feel myself waiver it is because I have spent too much time away from learning and growing in my faith. RCIA teachers are skilled in teaching about the faith, while your usual layperson is not as skilled about teaching the faith and feilding questions. I really hope that you take advantage of this, CAtholicisim really is a wonderful faith, you just need to learn about it. Good luck, God bless.

You don't need to go back to a church that doesn't support your own beliefs and values. But there are others.
I grew up as a Catholic, went without religion for 20 years, and now belong to a Unitarian Universalist congregation which is filled with humanists who value common things such as the inherent worth and dignity of all people, democracy, freedom to explore your own search for meaning in life and a respect for the interdependent web of life and who take actions to promote our values in the world.

The viel of the cult is starting to be lifted. The transition is sometimes painful. If you want to be free from superstitions forever, you need to educate yourself about them. Start by reading Carl Sagan's classic "The Demon Haunted World".

you go to Church to worship God.I went through this also.I am a Christian and still have lots of unanswered questions But the more I attend Church the more questions I get answered.Being a God Fearing Christian has to be your Choice,God put us on this earth and he gave us the choice to believe in him and worship him or not to.
