In Washington, President Bush's adviser on the Iraqi war, Lt. Gen. Douglas Lute, confirmed the proposal, calling it "a set of principles from which to begin formal negotiations."

As part of the package, the Iraqis want an end to the current U.N.-mandated multinational forces mission, and also an end to all U.N.-ordered restrictions on Iraq's sovereignty.

I'm glad that there will be Americans helping the decent people of Iraq gain the freedoms we have here. As for Iraq becoming a welfare state, what a joke that is in light of the fact that liberals have been screaming for years that we are there to steal oil. Thanks for the laugh!
Don't pretent to speak for the people of Iraq. You remind me of Saddam who once also pretended to speak for Iraq. See what the people of Iraq did to him?

You have someting against Iraq being a sovereign nation again? I'd want the UN as uninvolved in my country as possible too.
