A couple of days ago I noticed that I had "heat rash" type bumps on my jaw line and also on my chest. Throughout the day I also noticed other parts of my body where this rash was forming. Within 2 days, I notice it happens to be spreading to random places.. My sides(ribs) my stomach, lower back , upper back, back of neck and front, behind ears, chest, etc. I have been putting Gold Bond's Baby Powder with Corn Starch on the areas to make sure they are kept dry, and i purchased cotisone 10. I haven't used the cortisone yet, because I'm afraid that if it is heat rash, it will clog the pore even more. How can i get rid of this... what is it??

There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of causes for a rash...from fungus to bacteria, eczema and psoriasis, to allergies, etc...
I think the most common is an allergy (Contact Dermatitis) Have you started using a new lotion, laundry detergent, body soap, shampoo, etc...? It could be an allergy to that. Are you taking any new medications?...could be a reaction to a medication. If you suspect an allergy, stop using everything and slowly re-introduce products until you find out what it is.
Why do you think it's heat rash...are you constantly hot? Are you getting a fever and/or flu-like symptoms with it? ...If so, it could be a virus, like fifth-disease, or something. Or, it could be something more serious (Lymes, Lymphoma, Stills, West Nile, etc...) if you have a fever (101+) with it and/or joint pain...then you should definitely see a Dr and don't let them stop testing you until you know for sure what is causing it!
Is it scaly? Bumpy? More of a lacy pattern or definite round spots? Is it raised? Itchy? Red, purple, or salmon colored? There are so many types of "rash".
Does it come and go at different times of the day, or is it constant? Does it get worse or come back with exposure to certain things...sunlight, heat, soap, etc...
If you've unsuccessfully tried the over-the-counter medications and have not changed any detergents or lotions lately, then
I would see a dermatologist and/or your family physician. There are SO many things that cause a rash, and so many types of rashes, that only a Dr can tell you what's going on. If the rash has come with other symptoms like the flu, be sure to see a Dr right away.
If it persists, you may want to do an allergy test and/or skin biopsy to at least narrow the cause down.

Usually a heat rash is where sweat is, I would have it checked out. Have you been in the woods, (poison oak, or poison ivy?
When you touch it with a little pressure, does the color come right back, or does it stay sorta white for a while first? If the color comes right back, it's probably OK, but if the color takes a while to come back, you need to have it checked out.

You should have this checked by a Doctor. They may have to prescribe a medication for you which will help with your rash problem.
Have you any other symptoms? Like do you feel hot, tired, itchy skin ???

I'll have to examine you first. Strip and stand real close to your monitor. Let me know when you're ready. I'm going to get a cup of coffee.
