If you take into account Tantric texts (I know that not all of it is about sexuality), you are in fact communing with the godliness of someone else and they with you. The act of making love becomes an act of worship thus allowing it to be a gateway to God. I think it's quite beautiful to think this way. The sin was trying to be "like gods" and if procreating outside of what God said, makes us like God, (such as these God/sex cerimonies believe) then that could have been original sin itself.

It is the physical representation of Union or Unity yet it does not last. Because it is not the "True" Union which we seek, it is not everlasting. Find what sex represents in deeper meaning, and it will become something very Sacred and not the object for fufillinglustful desires. Peace......
