How does it feel to be part of an indoctrination process?

Ghana cannot do anything to effect climate change either way.

Build decentralized power systems that use wind, solar, geothermal, tidal and hydro where ever feasible.

Avoid the centralized/grid systems, as they tend to create and concentrate other types of centralized power as well, if you know what I mean. That is the biggest problem the West now faces, control by the few that are more interested in their own situation than anyone else or the planet.

When the Soviet Block broke up, many of those countries were 40 to 50 years behind the West in the area of telecommunications. Some are now ahead because they used the latest technology in wireless and cell systems. This allowed these countries to avoid the development of the "copper infrastructure" that is very expensive to create and maintain.

So without centralized and corrupt huge facilities and infrastructure Ghana could leap ahead and avoid the control dramas of the elite few in the West that continue to put their self interests and incomes ahead of the average person or the health of our planet.

With a decentralized approach, healthy competition can be created between communities to exceed efficiency goals, and allow for improvements in other areas like; recycling, improved sanitation systems, domestic water systems and agricultural irrigation systems. Not to mention the pride that will be developed within those communties as they become self sufficient and sustainable, possibly ahead of more so called advanced parts of the world!

Transportation systems must be developed in the opposite way, with centralized effecient mass transit systems that are able to use the various decentralized clean power systems that can connect all points in the country. Each small system can sell power to the big mass transit system, creating revenue flow for those communities.

Good luck and God Speed with your work!

DEVELOP!

Only developed economies, those with solid infrastructures (roads, bridges, power plants, and industry) will be able to weather any "disaster" that Climate Changes will bring.

If they have few/no natural resources, they must invest in education and infrastructure that will allow them to become the low-wage technological mecca of Africa. Since Coal fired power plants are CHEAP, and can be done cleanly, they should invest heavily in those. Nuclear power is another option they should pursue. All those fancy, schmancy "wind, geothermal, and solar" are all pricey pipe-dreams right now and not at all reliable! Coal and Nuclear baby!

Offer tax relief for foreign investors. Encourage education up to and including some college for all people. Mechanize food production to free up human labor.

Only the richest nations have any hope of "going green" or dealing with the natural disasters that the world throws at them!

Development is the only way to ensure their ability to adapt to whatever it is that comes....

Isn't a lot of the problem from global warming caused by industrial countries? We need to learn from the people of Ghana on how to conserve.

Save your money. Ghana is a poor country with few disposable resources to spare. The Vostok ice core data shows conclusively that temperatures fall precipitously in the presence of elevated levels of carbon dioxide (see reference). Therefore, elevated levels of carbon dioxide are not an impediment to cooling. Therefore, the reduction of CO2 emissions (which is the only proposed mitigation technique for global warming) is unnecessary for cooling to occur. Reduction of CO2 will have a negative effect on Ghana's gross domestic product and could severely impact the health and welfare of its citizens--for no scientific reason.
