A Bible story,
one day i was reading a parable about a man who was incapable of believing everything he read in the bible.
i asked a theologian
"what if i had a hard time believing that Jesus could have done all these wondrous things , would make me a sinner ?"

He told me that all i read was a parable it wasn't exactly a true story but,
was an example,
that would best describe the reason of the persons question. , it was written by the apostles so that it would somehow simplify our thought process,
by encouraging you to make positive changes. he also said the bible if read,
the way it was written,
no human could ever follow it to the letter.

It was put together at different times by different people
Just an example:
Here again I fear I may be running into trouble, there may be some who will stop me and remind us that god made Adam (the first man) and Eve the first or second woman, (depending on how you interpret Genesis 1:27 & 5:2 and the mediaeval Midrash explanation) who then ate of the tree of knowledge and therefore filled themselves with Sophia at the same time committing the first and original sin then after being thrown out of Eden this knowledge was then lost probably due to the great universal flood. If this is your belief then I can not say that you are wrong especially as most cultures talk of some devastating flood, though it may not have been the same one they may well have taken place at the same time, however what I can do is remind you that in genesis (said to be written by Moses sometime between 3600 and 3300 BPD) it is called the tree of knowledge of good and evil genesis 2:17 , which is not the same as the knowledge used in creating writing and building boats, “The Art of ship making is not in the wood.” As we can see Genesis itself is contradictory and unclear, other examples can be found in (i) 6:2 “that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives, whomsoever they chose” distinguishing between the family line of Adam for 11 generation, over some 1,546 years, and these daughters who arrive from some unidentified males. (ii) G6:19-20 where Noah is commanded to take two of every beast And yet in G7:1-3 the number is 7. (iii) there are two different ending to the flood story that of G9:20-22 and G9:1-17. Julius Wellhausen gave an explanation for this in his Prolegomena zur Geschichte Israels in which he suggests four different sources for the Torah. The Torah itself was orally transmitted and no datable artefact older than 2600BPD has as yet been found making it difficult to date texts. As for the flood story which took place in 1646AA (after Adam, calculated using Genesis 5-12) there seem to be similarities shared with the Atrahasis and the Gilgamesh Epics.

I would never say that god does not exist.
But when the Religion becomes more important than the God we have a problem!

Enough to make thousands of religions look real dumb [ before God and Christ ], because they pass right by the truth selecting what they will have in order to have a religion as if the book is a religious formula.

If any one really wants to know the truth, they study, search, rightly divide and examine and re-examine each time period, each person, each book, each story, each subject [ soul, spirit, death, life, flood, Jesus genealogy and the kings ], all about God, All about Christ, all about the angels, all about the fallen angel, the demons and all about Satan, all about the hells, all about the resurrection, why men are redeemed from earth to heaven, all about the new heavens and the new earth and all this one has that will never be needed and why?

All about the thousand year reign of Christ, being in it and being after it, all about mind, wisdom, knowledge and understanding and the Holy Spirit, all about how history repeats itself and all about the world Empires and world history, why there are parables and the reality of symbolism's, the last days, the time of the end.

Yes, I do believe it to be the one and only True Word of God. Yes I believe it was written by men, Chosen by God himself, Lead by the Holy Spirit. There is no way those men chosen by God could have know the things they wrote, without being lead by the Holy Spirit. Those men wrote the Scriptures, some of them not having a understanding of the Scriptures they were writing, but knowing that it was Gods will that they write them. So many of them wrote of things to come, and not understanding what that could mean. Because they could not foresee the future. Not only are we told in the Bible of past events, but are given the events that are taking place at this present time, and are given events that will take place in the too near feature. I personally don't understand how one could not believe it. The Proof is in the Scriptures. So yes it is and I believe without any doubt that it is the Word of God.

It's a mix of old folk law and vivid memories of our past, the store of the flood for example there was a flood or floods, but these would have occurred some time after the end of the Ice age about 14,000 years ago and again after a mini ice age 11,000 years ago but it plain impossible to think one man and his three son main a boat big enough to take a pair of every animal that exists today plus those which have become extinct since. just plain mad!
and so on the book is full of stories and names that connect to history but a lot of fantasy was thrown in for good measure there is also a lot of stuff from old Greek and Sumerian legend.
The first commandment say it all

I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. 3 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 4 thou shalt not bow down unto them, nor serve them; for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me;

If is the only god speaking here why does he seem so parniod?
This the voice of man laying down the law and using gods name so that everybody is afaid not to do as they are told.

Hope that helps

All! It is written that the bible is the inspired word of God. If "God be true and every man a liar", then it is true since God and His Word are one.

The truth (as I have said in other times) always reveals itself.
Hence, if God lied, then we would not be seeing so many revelations today of what has been written in His Word.

Yes, men are corrupt but they do not have the say. They just think they do. Hitler - that raving lunatic - thought he would rid the world of whomever and whatever he felt was unworthy. He thought he was a god unto himself and the world. Where is he today? What happened to his glorious kingdom? Aren't his henchmen paying and have been paying for their war crimes? Just read the news!

Absolutely not. There is much truth in the Bible because it is a history based on experience. This is also its undoing. It is primarily a pretty good historical text but was written by men and is sexist in extreme under the guise of kindness. It
is a primer on the inferiority of women and one of the primary reasons that one in three women in the united states are abused by the males in their lives and many others are raped and killed. I think of it as " Males are in charge because you are stupid and worthy of disrespect and the large male in the sky will forgive us if we ask" Don't wait till you are old to figure it out like most woman do.

It was from God, but corrupted by men. So I focus on what Jesus said while alive...and judge by the fruits of practicing it.

I am not Christian and I an sure that Bible is full of truth.
But the main, major, most important thing is corrupted "the way they believe in God"

Interesting question and you have horns on your head, what does that signify?

I think Satan tried to corrupt as much as he could. Satan's greatest lie was convincing much of the world that he does not exist.

I happen to believe in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. I also believe the Bible is the word of God.
