I think it's better to look within than to look to others to give meaning to your life.

The place to start is where you are now. Dividing it into inside and outside and labeling doesn't really help. The meaning of life is always and only here now. The first thing to do is to relax and breathe in this moment.

It is necessary to look within to see where we are at in this life. I do not agree that we can find the meaning of life within ourselves. I believe in order to find purpose and meaning you must look to God, your Creator. Only in Him can you find your true destiny and the answers you seek. Happy hunting.

When Adam ate the fruit from the forbidden tree his power to reason truthfully fell. Sin entered the world. Sin is transgressing the will of God by doing our own will. By acting in accordance with the lie that the devil told Eve, as Adam did, we sin. The lie was the truth with false information mixed into it. The devil said that God knew that we would be "as gods," knowing good and evil, which was why man was not supposed to eat from the tree that God had said not to eat from.
That was not the reason God said not to eat from the tree. The reason was because if man decided to do his own will in opposition to the will of God, then he would bring death into his life. God had told Adam that that is what would happen, but the devil, through Eve, questioned what God had said. The answer to the question is still the same as when God first told Adam that in the day he ate from the tree, in dying, he would die. In sinning we bring death into our life.
The word of God stands as the light to light our way in this sinful world. Jesus Christ is able to save your soul from sin. His word is the pure doctrine of truth. He will come and live within you if you repent, meaning turn away from sin and turn to him with your whole heart, mind, and soul.
Until he lives within you by the Holy Spirit and opens your eyes to the doctrine of Christ, then what you have within you is the wisdom of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which brings death.

yes. absolutely the first place to start is with yourself. The real definition of psychology is "The Study of Oneself". It's not that nonsense they teach at Stanford or Harvard or wherever. Take Joyce Brothers, "psychologist". I will bet you that Dr. Joyce Brothers NEVER STUDIED Joyce Brothers. She just studied some book. So she AIN'T NO PSYCHOLOGIST.
