I'm fat and out of shape so I very much doubt that I would be the one to tell you. You are only 13, if you're doing it for gymnastics or a sport and your coach suggested it then I would tell you its okay. If you want to lose weight, do it slowly, I would do the dumbell just like you do, however I think you should either do the bike or walk but not both on one day, you could alternate a brisk bike ride one day then the next a nice medium walk the next day. I would be worried if I was your mom. You had a medical condition and if it has anything to do with your heart, you are doing to much. Dumbells yes bike M-W-F and the walk on T-Th. However I would have to agree that I wish I lost weight when I was younger. It is not a diet though sweety, it is a life change, to excersize and eat better. Just for the fun of it go to Michael Thurmond.com the 6 wk body makeover. God Bless and Good luck, I would rather you doing this stuff than do what the sick girls do.

The first thing you need to do is get an okay from your doctor for starting any additional exercise program. You should always start easy and work up. You are getting enough exercise for a basic exercise program. The increasing to an hour walk everyday should be left up to your doctor. Instead of going for one 1-hour walk a day you might think about 2 30 minute walks a day. Just build up slowly with your doctor's okay.

WOW, thats actually a lot of exercise I would think for a 13 year old.
The heath authority suggest raising your heart rate for 390 minutes 3 times a week. Its a pretty good place to start.
A dumbell workout - I dont know for sure, but I guess you are sitting? I would suggest if you havent done any exercise for 2 years that a good aerobic work out would be better... like Swimming. Join a badminton club too, as its easy to start (unlike tennis) and you get a lovely workout with it. Great for a 13 yr old guy/gal too. My 9 year old plays.
Walking is cool aswell, but you need to be going fast enough to get up a little bit of sweat or out of breath. If you are doign that then every day is cool. I wouldnt put too much pressure on yourself mate. Most teens dont do this much exercise - and they fair ok.
I dont know your health condition or if you are over weight/ under weight but a balanced view of eerything is the best way forward.
Have you tried roller booting? My 9 year old loves that too. We take him to an indoor place every sunday for 2 hours of fun and laughs. Great exercise and it cools you down at the same time.
I would not suggest dumbell workouts because this will be ripping your muscles and building them like someone who wants to be a weight trainer. Get your whole body fit, not just your arms, and the best way to make your heart and lungs fit as a kid is through running about, being crazy and stuff...
So I suggest (just my opinion)
Your walks are good
Your exercise bike is good - but why not take a real one out?
Rollerbooting/blading - even trying it will work you out!
Badminton - join a club - great for meeting other freinds and being able to assess what they do too and get it all in perspective.
Hope it helps.
I would be worried if my son wanted to do too much exercise. Too much of anything is not healthy.
take care

Hey there! It sounds like you've had a rough couple of years, and you're trying to get back to where you need to be. I'm going to give you advice, but believe me, we've all hesitated answering your questions because you are 13 years old and personally I was worried you were headed down an anorexic or destructive behavior path with your weight loss talk.
I think you're simply ready to be back where you were before the sickness, and that your parents support your weight-loss efforts? Let's hope so,
Here's my advice:
Everyday is too much to ride the bike. If you don't give your muscles a chance to heal properly, you won't build them up correctly, or burn fat as effectively.
Bike for 20-30 minutes 4-5 times a week.
I'm not sure what your dumbbell workout consists of, but MWF is good enough. Lay off the Saturday workout with weights because, again, you need time for your muscles to heal properly.
Walking is always good and fun, and can be great for fat-loss if you speed walk. 30 minutes is plenty for now, and it doesn't hurt to do this everyday.
If you have access to an elliptical machine I would replace biking with elliptical, but other than that, it sounds like you're doing everything you need to.
Best of luck, and healing from your medical condition!

I think that's enough exercise, because you are supposed to exercise at least 30 minutes a day. The most important thing is for you to not only exercise, but to eat right while exercising. It's very important to exercise and it's good to see someone exercising at your age. I am fifteen myself and do half of the stuff that you have listed. Just keep up the exercise and drink plenty of water. Don't be to overly exercised, that could not make you want to exercise. If you feel like doing more exercising, then do it.

Do you warm up first? If you over do it you will not achieve the results you seek. You need to exercise a total of 3 days a week alternating one day on one day off. Due to your muscles need to repair. Your only 13. Your body will start to go thru different changes. Not sure how tall or how much you weigh. But hope this helps.

If you are getting your heart rate up for 30 minutes a day, that is definitely enough for ANYONE! I would say this is the ideal workout routine.
Also, if you're trying to lose weight, just watch what you eat (count your calories) and the weight will come off. Being active is the KEY to losing weight, so keep this routine up, you should have no problems.

You have to be patient in doing exercises since you didn't exercise due to medical reasons. For now, you're doing okay for a start. As you get older, you may want to try longer durations in doing types of exercises.Try jogging on alternate days for a short dista nce.Do 20 sit ups each day or you may want to do lesser sit ups since you are under medical condition.I hope that will help (:

you're assuming that the voters comprehend greater desirable than the asker what the suited answer is. in maximum circumstances they do no longer. The asker a minimum of has an interest interior the subject count (in any different case he does no longer have asked a question approximately it), while voters commonly tend to be people who in basic terms vote on random solutions for a speedy component or 2.

It would depend on your goals, intensity, and current fitness level.
That program, depending on exactly what you're doing, is generally going to be plenty of exercise for health.
If you've been unable to exercise for two years, then that might be too much for you. I would recommend that you consult with your doctor (related to your medical condition) and see that they recommend for your rehabilitation and beginning exercise. They're going to be far more familiar with your case and will have the most professional opinion.
