Pretty much. Sometimes R&S feels like banging my head into a wall...covered in spikes....with lemon juice raining on me.

There needs to be a fool for there to be a sage, but the fool usually ends up teaching the sage a thing or two. It is all in respect to who's opinion it is, the atheist like myself would admit to being the fool but really know the consequences of god and laugh inside. It is ironic and sad but the world works in funny ways.
"Teach one person and the society just may adhere. Try to teach them all and they will think you are a wise ****."

I do know this: Evidence for the existence of god is not needed. Evidence against it is not appropriate.
No evidence, for or agianst, carries much weight when compared to the motivation and the emotion.
It's an emotion, and arguments will fall flat.

Not really. The existence or non-existence of god is the essence of religion. If one can proof, beyond any reasonable doubt, that god exists, then there would be no atheists.
(Obviously, it had not been met)

No. Fools enter arguments that cannot be settled with people they love. No matter how stupid they are.

I don't think the argument is intrinsically foolish unless your expectations are ridiculous (I will convert this person) or your opponent is irrational (I won't listen to any point you make).

Nah...it can be quite funny. Besides, the last time we left them go totally unchallenged we got the Dark Ages. I don't want to see that again.

If you think you can 'win' it, then yes, but if you're just doing it for the entertainment value, then no.
