I am driving to Shreveport, La in January to meet a guy I have been chatting with for 2 months. He is a soldier in Iraq and will be back in the states in January. We are meeting in Shreveport for a 3 day weekend. I am driving 9 hours and will have my own money to be able to stay in a seperate room if need be. I am just asking for advice on precautions. Has anyone ever done this before? Did it work out?

bringing your own money is a VERY good idea. cause you might need to stay in a different room seeing as you never met him. if i was you i would meet at a very public place at first and kinda hang out there for awhile. a nice cafe would be cool. you dont want to end up on the news as some crazy guys next vitume lol. but im sure that your a smart girl and would not be taking this chance if you didnt feel like it was worth it. just dont rush nothing. cause i have seen this done alot and rushing things is not a good idea. good luck

Look for whatever reason do not make this trip. You really do not know this person at all even though you have been chatting with him for 2 months. Look if he is a soldier returning from Iraq he is definitely in need of some female companionship, especially sex. What you should do is when he returns have him meet you in your hometown, you two sit down in a resturant or go to a movie and really get to know each other before you do something rash. This soldier may deep down may have social problems that you are not even aware of and something bad may happen to you. Please do not make this trip. If you want to meet him make him come to your hometown and let people see both of you together, and really make sure you know this person. People can say anything over a computer in a chatroom. I have seen too many instances where young ladies have done the same thing you are talking about and something bad happens to them.

I have done this and it worked. JUST BE CAREFUL. Let someone know where you will be, who you're with, and when you get back.
