Isn't it obvious? Because God doesn't exist!

He does. God doesn't send clues as you mean it, but they are present just the same. As Fred S - AM Cappo Di Tutti Capi stated, my response is you have to be receptive to notice them.

This is a joke i heard, but it kind of makes the point:

A man was in the ocean after falling overboard. He said to himself, "I won't worry, because God will save me." A short time later, a sailboat passed by. They threw him a life preserver, which he refused. "That's okay, God will save me!"
The sailboat moved on. The man said, I'm okay, God will save me." Shortly afterwards, a yacht passed by. They too threw a life preserver, which was refused. "No thanks, God will save me!" The man encouraged himself, "I know God will save me." Next, an ocean liner passed by. They, too, tossed a life preserver. "No, thank you! God will save me!" The ship moved on.

Several hours passed. The man grew angry. "Where are you God? I believed you would save me! What happened?"

God replied, "I sent a boat, a yacht, and an oceanliner. What more did you want?"

So, too, the 'evidence' that exists can be missed, misinterpreted, misread, or misunderstood. Much of the evidence is completely discounted altogether.

There is scarce little 'for' and so much 'against' these days, people miss what is right in front of them because so much of it has 'always been there', and that which has been around for so long has already been explained away. Anything 'new' that turns up is promptly catalogued under the same heading and disregarded.

The easiest thing to do, whether you believe or not, is to ask
God to show you that he is real. Not prove to me what you are and whether you exist, but an honest, sincere request. When he does, it will be something that you will know for yourself is what you seek. Someone else may say you're a lugnut or two short, but you will know, and that's all that matters.

Incidentally, there is one area of the Bible where God says 'test me'. It is about the paying of tithes.

Malachi 3:10 (King James Version) Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

If you act on God's promises, even if you are not a believer, God will honor his word in your life. the only exception is regarding salvation, because you have to believe in order to be saved. So if tithing doesn't work for you, keep searching until you find a promise in his word that you would like to see happen in your life.

It is not 'proof', per se, but it will be some pretty concrete evidence when it happens.

I hope you find what you are looking for. Soon. And I hope that what you find is a relationship with God through Christ Jesus.. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Hope I helped. God bless you.

God is always present; if we ask Him to reveal Himself to us, He always proves faithful to do so!
The key in recognizing God's presence is to truly seek Him. If we honestly desire to know He is real, we are more likely to see the signs and clues He sends us throughout the day.

He does. The clues are all around you, all day, every day. You are one of those clues. The Creator that designed your body Created the Universe. If people weren't so stuck on the nose in front of their face, they would see the incredible awesomeness of the Lord's creation everywhere: DNA, outer space, our planet (more than 3,000 active volcanoes under the sea, some higher than Mt. Everest), our bodies, our circumstances, our friends' circumstances, our very lives. Seek Him and you will find Him. Stay stuck in your head and you'll never see Him. If it's all about you, it'll never be about anything else. He'll give you eyes to see if you seek Him with all your heart. I was once blind, but He gave me eyes to see now. It's amazing once you acknowledge the Lord for who He is. He'll bless you to no end. But He'll let you wander around on your own if you choose. That is your choice. Humble yourself and seek Him with all your heart, or stay stuck in your own head and never be blessed with knowing your Creator.

Christians claim that if God would fully reveal himself it would take away our 'free will'.

I hear that and hear "if God fully revealed himself he would take away our ability to be led astray, and his necessity for hell".

The truth is that God has the exact same traits as Thor, Ra, Zeus, Neptune and Leprechauns. He has done nothing to distinguish himself as different from all the religions and beliefs that all of us call myths. This means that either he is also a myth, or doesn't care enough about humans to keep them from eternal torture. Either way, not worth worrying about.

I think the Bible says something a long the lines of God reveals himself in his creation, and that a person should be able to look at the world around him and realize it was created.

Because we are probably barking up the wrong tree, and maybe ought to be thinking about helping humanity and loving this Earth more, our only home.
Only then might we really get some clues...but maybe not what you are expecting.

You mean clues like personally coming to earth as a baby born of a virgin, being crucified and then coming back to life after 3 days?

Or do you mean clues like His creation being so incredibly complex and creatively beautiful that it couldn't possibly just happen by chance?

Or do you mean clues like Bible prophesies coming true?

Or do you mean clues like meeting with me each day during my prayer time when I read the Bible?

I think He has sent plenty of clues. I think we need to search harder for them.

Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. (8) For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
